I really am looking forward to the Kazuto / Suguha kendo duel in first ep of ALO arc

Also that timeline looks quite good as well. Maybe add one SS for the Jotunheimer quest for Excaliber? Though I'm not sure when it happens chronologically, isn't it after GGO? Not totally sure either way, but the ALO arc is a lot shorter than Aincrad arc.

When Kirito pointed out the floating castle Aincrad* when it appeared in the skys of ALO near the moon I totally wanted someone to say "That's no moon..."

*Did it stay in the sky or did it move close to the ALO continent? Can't recall atm.

edit: after watching the episode 5 teaser, I can't wait to see super serious Asuna during boss meeting. Hard to tell if it'll be 2 episodes or not, but the LN def has enough content in Murder Case to support it. I could totally see the first episode ending on the 'cliffhanger' of whats-her-face dying... Yoroko? Also I'm looking forward to Heathcliff eating those "noodles" and being disgusted haha. And the comment Asuna makes about marriage in-game and hiding items.. and Kirito proclaims he won't hide any rare drops from her. The pic in the LN was priceless! (That pic is her [over]reaction after he makes the comment)

As for the ALO timeline...that's pretty good actually.

do we really need a whole ep of Kirito in real life?

i can see 1 and 2 all in 1 ep.
3,4 and 5 in 2 eps.
6, 7, 8 also in 2 eps.
5 - 6 eps will take care of the ALO ep without rushing. Which leaves another 5-6 eps for GGO.

Regarding the SAO

5-6 for murder
7 - Dragon Shit
8 - Laughing Coffin Crusade
9 - Dinner/Floor74 boss
10 - Duel with heathcliff/ and durendal
11 - 16.5+marriage/Fishing
12 - Yui
13 - Floor 75 boss fight
14 - Fight with Heathcliff+epilogue

@Xellos - why cram 4 volumes into 10 episodes? If anything they will try to milk it for longer with a second season to try to do GGO+Alicization I think...

Yes, but they will probably use these scenes to make a connection between Asuna and Kirito, strange as it was in ep 2 ...

And also just change the floor, it's not like change much.

Personally i rather the anime do 18 for SAO and 6-8 for ALO but the pacing of SAO tells me they are trying for all 3 arcs in 26eps.

and Milking depends on how much faith the production committees has on the anime.

considering Alicization's length it make take 2 cours all by itself.

Even with this pace, I doubt it'll be anywhere near enough for them to adapt GGO.

I think we need a whole episode to show Kirito's recovery, introduce Sugou and Suguha (and Recon and might as well throw in Kikuoka to lay the ground work for GGO), establish Asuna's condition, and have the scene at Egil's cafe where we learn about ALO. That takes up almost a quarter of book 3 so I don't see why it'd get less than one ep.

Well I thought so too at first but actually this scene is mentioned in Murder Case, it simply isn't shown particulary in the novel. This is from A Murder Case a bit after Asuna and Kirito went to the restaurant:

"Normally, in our clearing group meetings, I would often debate with her intensely over the weaknesses of the boss and the positioning of the vanguards and the rearguards, so after hearing such an unexpected thanks, I was really flabbergasted."

So while this is shown in the Progessers, I think this isn't that scene, as it would be a bit arkward if they in one scene debate about the boss of the 57th floor only to be one second later at the 58th floor

absolutely no chance SAO will get a extra 6ep. Beside how does a whole ep of Kirito having dinner with Asuna make sense?

You're making Kirito and Asuna's dinner episode and Floor 74 boss into 1 episode, I think it'll be the dinner takes half of the episode, then Kirito's first duel with Cradil, after that they met the Glimereyes for the first part. The second part they met Klein while escaping to the safe zone, meeting The Army, save them from the Boss with Kirito showing his Dual-Blade skills(It'll be sad if his Dual Blades debut only cut as short as in a 1 episode)

Besides, is it already been confirmed that Fairy Dance will be included in season 1?

nothing confirm but SAO at its current pacing doesn't have enough material for 2 cours. it would have enough if the production team inlcuded Rondo, Concerto, first day and extended Aria and RNR.

you are right about the floor 74 boss and the heathcliff duel should on the same ep, With the ep ending by Kirito's defeat.

It is not like the novel spend a lot time on Kirito's duel blade either.

The only way to know how SAO will be progressing is to see how it progresses until episode 12/13 I guess since from my view, it's still too early to assume anything

If anything, Anime Adaptations normally only contains one arc in a season(most adaptations if not all are like that)

that depends on how much material is there per arc.

Horizon for example is currently doing 1 arc per cour and SAO is confirm as 2 cour show.
Ghost Hunt was about 3-4 eps per arc.

If Murder Case is shown all in one episode, you know they're either rushing to the main arc, or looking forward past SAO.

If it's in two episodes, it'll probably pace to the end of vol.1 by the last episode.

That's not true, most adaptations of LNs cover the first arc in about 3-6 episodes. Because most LNs have the first volume as a stand-alone arc.
