Bandai licensed the lucky star manga for English release? Just bought volume one. I hope this is a sign of good things to come!

Yeah volumes 2 and 3 aren't supposed to be that far away either Though I wish they'd just translate the Drama CDs already T_T

Was the anime translated? or was that only a teaser, I saw on wikipedia that they listed English voice actors for it. It has better be spot-on or I'm sticking to fansubs, which I think that they shouldve done with English release anyway, just sub it.

It has been released in the U.S. with both subtitles and dubs -- you can choose the way you want to watch it.

Yeah, and the English voice over work was quite decent. Even purist had a hard time bashing it.

I noticed something... after a little research, the same voice actor for Konata the English Dub of lucky star and in Haruhi, Wendee Lee, is also the voice of blackrose in the .hack series and in the Megaman Star Force anime...

I've been noticing it in other places too... she seems big in english dubs

That would be mostly cause the people that do these dubs, tend not to use more than a handful of people for every show the do. So voices get repedative pretty quickly.

The english voice actor pool is incredibly tiny... you'll see the same handful of actors on almost every R1 dub no matter which distributor is involved.

The subtitles are pretty decent in Lucky*Star... but they suffer from the limitations of the DVD subtitle format system. It simply won't be as creative or pretty as fansubbers can be with video files and aegisub. It isn't unusual for me to keep using a fansub after I've purchased the DVDs... and in one case, I stripped the DVD video and japanese audio out and put in my favorite subtitles with my tweaks for personal use because of significant changes from the broadcast series to the DVD series.

Four tiny and widely separated pools: Vancouver, Southern California, Texas and New York.

Things I should Not Do in Lucky Star:

1. I should not introduce Soujiro to Kurosawa-sensei. They might team together...

2. Suggesting that Misao is like a tabby cat is probably dangerous.

3. Whenever Kagami is present, I should hide the Pocky.

4. Introducing Konata to Fanfiction is not the best idea.

5. Asking about Misao's fang will only lead to trouble...very noisy, painful trouble.

6. I must resist mentioning Vocal**d or Miku Hatsune around Kagami, especially if Konata is around. For some reason she gets really mad.

7. I should not hide all the choco coronets, that would be cruel.

8. Telling Kuroi about Yui's marriage would just break her heart.
