It's was touchy...Hinata x Yui moment their special ed...and asking Yui to wait for him in the real world where they will meet again! but not as touchy as Otanashi's past and Hinata staying in the purgatory cuz he still has to worry about the others...got the ending in my head....the last would be Yuri and Kanade, Otonashi granting there wish and last scence about 1 or 2 min is that they see Yui & Hinata in a date, and many more to look forward to!
by the way Hinata x Yui really remind me of Tomoyo and Nagisa....cute couples...and there ending is probably just like that~

Do you guys mean Tomoya? Tomoyo is the cool silver hair girl in clannad. I just saw the raw and what ever Hinata said was touching. I thought he might had something for yuri but I guess not. Who knows maybe Yuzuru said something about Yui past too Hinata when Hinata hit that homerun.

Looks like Hinata is joining in with Otonashi in seeing the whole SSS through this purgatory.
Though I do believe that GirlDeMo is pretty much over, it'd be funny to see if their next vocalist was.. Kanade. Okay, just going by the OP where she plays, but maybe she can sing too... |

;____; Yuiiii!!! I found this episode beautiful. I am sooo sad to see Yui, my fave girl go, but hot damn the ending part made me cry. I've been rooting fro Hinata/Yui and this episode was a bittersweet dream come true for me.
...also, Yui was really funny when they played soccer. XD So vulgar, and she was really cute! 10/10. Most emotionally moved I've been in the series, lol >_> XD Last edited by caesarsalad; 2010-06-06 at 21:30. Reason: Added signature? XD |

Well, this episode definitely established what I thought should've started much much earlier in the series. Possibly as early as episode 5.
Now they're left with 3 episodes to deal with everyone. This should've either been less centric on comedy, or 24 episodes. Generally disappointed in the series as a whole. Good episode, though.

Great episode. I thought this was even better than Otonashi's life story part 2, in fact.
One notable difference between Yui's tale and the others' in the past episodes is the fact that it focuses much less on flashbacks (I believe it lasted for less than a minute). Instead, the anime opted to concentrate on portraying how Yui's history transformed her into the person that she is was () in the afterlife today, which, IMO, made the final scene with Hinata that much more powerful. In this way, it gave significance to her past and made it look less like something thrown in at the last second with no regards to the character itself, similar what Hinata's backstory is kinda guilty of. And speaking of Hinata, damn was he awesome this episode. The marriage thing felt a bit abrupt for me back there, though thinking upon it, Yui's major qualm in her life wasn't so much her inability to move like a normal person can as the resulting loneliness caused by it. If only that hypothetical sequence was reality... Hinata and Yui would truly make a good (tsundere) couple.

Ugh, here I thought Maeda would make me feel sorry for her. Then he shoehorned the confession scene out of nowhere. That really left a bad aftertaste in what could have been a somewhat decent episode. All in all, Cockroach extended her stay in the series for too long when focus could have been given towards resolving other issues. The most interesting bits were the mysterious shadow and Hinata getting in on Otonashi's plan. I expected he'd join him eventually, considering out of the whole SSS he's experienced the bliss of finding inner peace. Naoi would likely help Otonashi if asked, considering he became their ally solely because of him after all.
EDIT: How could I forget? The rest of GirlsDeMo had LINES this ep. =O. They CAN talk XD. |

A really good episode, although I feel this show simply needed more time to achieve what it set out to do. There simply wasn't enough time given to the Hinata/Yui relationship for this scene to work as well as intended...
It was still beautifully done though. |
