[PC] Battletech (2017)

This was announced last year, but I don't see a thread for this in here (there's a general Battletech thread on Sports and Entertainment, but this is specifically for the video game, so...)

Battletech will be a turn-based tactics game being made by Harebrained Schemes, the same developers who made the rather awesome Shadowrun trio of games on PC (Returns, Dragonfall and Hong Kong) successfully through Kickstarter, and Battletech will be their attempt at bringing the classic tabletop game to life on PC.

Here's some gameplay vids of the "super pre-alpha" build from GenCon 2016 earlier this year:

I enjoyed the Shadowrun games, so I'm definitely looking forward to this!

Anybody else bought it? My windows toaster couldn’t run it so I’m using my younger Sib’s Macbook air to play it. Combat is pretty simple and easy to get, but I’m still in the prologue, so it might get more complicated.

Already halfway through the campaign myself.

Combat is straightforward, but does have a good amount of depth to consider apart from just shooting at stuff, like positioning, reserving turns, heat management, armor facing, etc. And yes, you're going to need all of those to keep your merc company running in the later parts, since bigger payouts have bigger risks.
