15 is the air order (the 15th Ep of Suzumiya Haruhi on air), but yeah new threads may be the most simple solution

No, it really isn't. It's the 8th episode aired.

They've reset the entire airing order. This 'new season' effectively has nothing to do with the past one except that 14 of the 28 episodes were previously aired.

Maybe it is just something about Haruhi. The episode order is still messed up even when it is corrected.

Newest episode is:
The 15th episode to be leased by Kyoto Animation
The 1st new episode to air in 2009
The 8th episode to air in 2009

It is all these things.

Older episodes get even more wacky as they already have at least two orders to follow, and now just one more has been added to some of them.

All of them?

And what of the people who don't really know which episode is which by the title? Have it be part of a redone first post?

If anything they could be named like how the torrent of Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody was named:

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2009) Episode 1 (8)
.

with the chronological episode number included...

Yeah, except that Bamboo Leaf is not the 1st episode of the Suzumiya 2009, but the 8th (the new order is already in chronological order).

You forget that only the "new" content would be considered 2009, not the "old" content from three years ago...

I don't agree. The "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu" that is aring now is a new show that has a new episod enumeration convention.

Well, at last all fansub in my contry had agreed that "Suzumiya Haruhi 2009" includes all episodes aired this year. I though that was somewhat a universal convention.

This broadcast is "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsuu 2009", yeah.

Like "Kanon '06". But with the same animation for half the episodes.

So BLR would be "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsuu 2009 Episode 8".

So overall the three options would be:

- create new thread for all eps aired in 2009 (even if it's new or old materials)
- rename all old thread from 2006 so it will match with those in 2009
- do nothing, let just keep the old thread and name new Eps start with 1 =)

I'd like to propose that Haruhi be moved back into the Current Series section. Reason's self-explanatory.

Please read back on the topic.

This has been requested like 50 times now, and the mods will move it when they think it's ready.

My bad. I was just really surprised it hadn't been moved given its popularity.

I was so scared that they threw in an extra episode just to tease us and laugh at our tears. (And I guess this will be moved soon to the current series)

Given the difficulty of staying "spoiler-free" with the bramble bush of timelines in SHnY,

I'd like to request a SPOILERS OPEN discussion thread where people can discuss the anime and how it connects to the light novels storyline without fear of tripping on the spoiler policy.

Just be sure its titled in huge dripping blood red letters (SPOILERS AHEAD DAMMIT!) or some such
