The "service name" your router is asking for is probably a name for your sake, so you can remember what it was used for that forward. It has no effect on the actual forwarding. (Just put "perfect dark" or "pd".)
For port number, there is one single (TCP) port you need to forward, and you can configure that inside PD. Click on the Settings button and on the first page (General) look in the Port field. You can change it if you want to, but you don't need to do that. (Oh and btw., orange Comic Sans MS is very ugly, consider that each and every of your posts look very silly as long as you use that typeface.)

I have a question regarding the searching in PD. I've been googling but havn't been able to find an answer.
When I'm searching for example a new DVD release, i type in the name in japanese and sort stuff by "time" so I get newest files on top. But usually I have a hard time finding really new files, it works great when PD has been off for quite some time and it resets the keyword search and starts over. Otherwise it just get stuck somewhere between 20000 and 30000, no new files coming in during the whole day... Does anyone know how this keyword search really works? What does it search for? For instance, I often find the new release on sharedb.info but not on PD. I just don't understand how the search function / keyword search index works, the number is often very random too sometimes it stops around 20000 and sometimes 30000. Could someone please explain some of this stuff for me? |

There is a thread on 2channel that lists new ups to PD and their respective hashes, but only for Blu-ray. There could (and probably is) be one for DVD releases as well, but in general crap hits share first, or even winny sometimes still. Utatane has a bunch of crap as well.
No idea how PD's keywording works exactly, but my list frequently deletes small amounts of cache to refresh for the latest things, and I find things fairly quickly after they show up. E~ |

I uninstalled Share since it no longer connected for me, even with the new nodes.
A little bit of help needed for running Perfect Dark: 1: I forwarded a port for the program but it keeps saying: "perfect dark is online. open port NOT confirmed." Should I keep it like this? What should I do? 2: After pasting the most recent encrypted addresses into the "add ip/address port" box, I still don't get any hits while searching, even with queries like "C75". Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help. |

I called my ISP and it looks like they changed my IP address without my family's permission.
I am online now. For anyone else who is experiencing the same problem as I had, just make sure the ip address you put in TOGETHER with your new port during port forwarding is your recent one. Thanks again. |

My Share just exploded.
"SetNil error at 004F1E77. Access violation at address 7700CF2F in modeul 'ntdll.dll'. Read of address 0003FFA." Endless popups of "Out of memory" errors on top of that. Will pd do the same if 4.82gb of RAM get used out of 8gb in (Vista) Server 2008 x64 lol.
