Depends on you wish.

If you want more like sentai, you can have closed for or it's equivalent.

If you want more mundane, which as Demi said seems to be your choice, don't. Like Stratospear's for example.

Alternatively, have the closed form not a mass-shifting, only shape and density morphing (like Bayformers). Mine have the refurbished ShiroKishi morph into briefcase ala Ironman, but it's still bulky and weighed like full of bricks with PIC active.

Well, for sure I don't want to use the term "Stasis Lock". Google that and you'll find out why...

Although I do like the term "Stasis", because it does fits how the Silverback will shutdown but the armor will remain out and can protect the user.

And as for having a "Closed Form", I'm still undecided about it... and another problem with that is what should I call it if it does have a "Closed Form"?

For closed form can always call it "Sleep mode" "Storage mode" etc. Something that implies simplicity and handiness.

I forgot what happened if the Minerva shuts down. And didn't he have it turn into a Pendant when in it's "Closed Form"?

Minerva doesn't have closed form.

It's been revamped further, when it shut, it shut. All the weapon are no longer stored digitally. Just just like any real robot.

I remember reading the later chapters of StratoSpear's fics that the Minerva does have a Closed Form and it was a Pendant. He even discussed it with you guys on here. But the only way to know for sure is to ask StratoSpear himself...

As for the name for the Silverback's shut down state, and if it'll have a closed form or not is still in the works...

Sheesh I need some help on these...

If the Silverbacks do have a Closed Form, here's what I have in mind for them.

Eric: Tricep protector (Left arm)
Eddie: Fingerless Gauntlet (Right hand)
Brian: Body Protector (Like a BMX rider's, but covers both the front and back and has no shoulder pieces)
Clay: Pauldron (Right shoulder, but only covers the top part)

Armor pieces basically. And there's a reason why I have Brian's be a Body Protector.

But should I have a Closed form for the Silverbacks or not?...

Her words left unfinished as something smashed onto her at high speed, it was a girl, a girl who I knew very well, and resent.

“Payback, bitch” was the first and only sentence came from the brown-haired, petite Chinese girl, before delivering a swift strike to the yankee’s jaw squarely, thrown her back.

(She’s about as tall as me, how-?!)

“Ling?!” both Onii-chan and Ichika-san said with a mix of surprise and relief hinted. However, they waste not much time either, quickly ransacking the bunch of her minions easily.

Ichika even fought a man over a head taller, with bulk to mach. If I have to exaggerate, one punch from him will tore through a car from one side to other. It’s really like that legend of Golliath and David! Ichika-san, be careful!

“Fuck you Orimura!”

“Did I know you? Guess no”

Ichika-san stomped the ground firmly, changing his combat stance, and then, he swung his arm at incredible speed, fist meet fist.

And the giant of a man howling in pain as he grabbed his elbow, landed on his bottom. His arm, which had clashed with Ichika-san’s own, seemed to be limp and livid.

“No use of muscle if you don’t have proper joint and technique” Ichika-san then use the same hand to crush his enemy’s nose. Ouch.

Another guy charged, but before I knew, he simply grabbed the Giant and then gracefully, yet brutally, grappled him; it was a gold-haired man of small stature, slightly under Madoka-san. I notice he’s a foreigner as well.

“Charles too huh?”

“Well, just to make sure” the blond boy twisted the other arm by pulling it, another scream was heard. Now, my fear has been replaced by pity, and of course, confusion. It’s a total chaos “Don’t worry, I just dislocate it”

“Well, please be merciful” Ichika nodded before casually backhanded a girl who tried to smack him with a pipe “My bad”

(It’s not like I don’t know Ichika-san anymore, but at least, I don’t sense his killing intent anymore)

And they keep their words, even Onii-chan and Madoka-san. It’s a slaughter, a merciful slaughter, but still! Now, I wonder which one I should fear more.

Not enough of that, tiny plastic ball began to rain down upon the sky, all I can see is a figure stood upon a sunset, model gun on her hand, she continuously shot with unbelievable accuracy. It was a high powered BB gun, I once saw that on a magazine, it’s seems that they’re mostly harmless unless hitting vital places, but still painful nonetheless.

And then…

It was a wooden sword that a pipe and a baseball bat, one handed. A majestic, tall female not unlike Madoka-san. She hacked them all without batting an eye, I could even see

“Houki, hold your strength a little!”

“There should no mercy for people like this”

“Hey, I’m trying to make as little victim as possible” Ichika-san said “Think about the law!”

This dangerous situation had turned into a slapstick fest, and I’m not excited at all.

This is horrible! I COULDN’T STAND IT ANYMORE!

I slumped on the wall, cowering pathetically while covering my ears with my hands and closed my eyes, hiding my face.

It was dawn, and the fight has reached its end. I don’t know how long I covered my eyes and ears, but then, I don’t hear anything even after I loosened my palm, it was a little dark, but I can see everyone.

The yard has been littered with bodies, I lost count after twenty.

That china twerp actually locked into a standoff, exchanging blow with the female leader, clearly, she has upper hand, even though the later had knifes on her disposal.

Her face was bruised; Rinrin’s face remains untouched at all. Though, her skin was wet and her clothes look pretty damp.

“How do you feel? Eh? Why don’t you just bow down and beg me for forgiveness”

I knew that side of her, her angry, threatening voice. It’s not the kind of anger that caused by one small thing, it’s a feelings of hatred nurtured for months, maybe years even.

“FUCK YOURSELF!”

Fist met face, once again. Though, Rinrin doesn’t let her go at all. Her curly lock is grabbed fiercely; her body limped because the sheer amount of punishment she received.

“I… forgive you”

I could feel it was sincere, there’s no anger or hatred anymore, but is there’s any reason she still pulled her hair like that?

She took a knife, and in one slice, shafted the hair she grabbed.

Once proud delinquent queen, she is now a pitiful, sobbing wreck of a woman.

“Settled the score, for my burnt hair” Rin said, letting the wind to scatter the unnaturally colored, curly strands of hair “Don’t you dare to show your face again”

Police siren whined, closer as closer, as Rinrin buried her face in Ichika-san and Onii-chan’s embrace, crying soundly like an innocent child. Everyone has settled down as well, half of them, I don’t familiar with.

A pair police helicopter hovering over our location, signaling something I don’t understand.
“So you already planned it huh?” Onii-chan cracked his neck, I can see few bruise but he doesn’t seems to mind.

“As the only male pilot, it’s only normal to have some sort of diplomatic immunity” Ichika-san murmured “In the end, the same tragedy repeated again and again. I'm the only kind of guy that escape karma… and it's too painful to bear”

I don’t want to see Ichika-san like this, he look so… weak, so fragile. Either that or he became monstrously frightening. I don’t want to see either, I want to see the usual Ichika-san, who always smiled cheerfully and friendly with us.

I began to talk as my throat loosened, after the shock and fear left me. “But… still you want to shed a little blood a possible, Ichika-san… fighting is bad, I won’t justify it at any rate, and you’re really scary there…”

“You want to continue twerp?” That darned Rinrin pushed me angrily, but Madoka-san held her on bay.

“However, I am glad you feel regret about it. Because if you don’t, you’re not Ichika-san I knew anymore”

“Che, how much you know about him anyway” Even though she talks like that, she is smiling, showing her little and unthreatening fangs in the process “Let this Onee-chan enlighten you”
“Onee-chan my butt, my chest is larger than yours”

“You-“

I actually mocked her! I think it’s because the euphoria, I don’t know anymore. Our face was at close proximity after the first, hostile headbutt.

“What?”

“Bah, you’re too pathetic and insignificant for my fist; go away, you made my eyes sore”

“Please? I’m more eye-catching than you in so many ways~!”

“SHADAP! YOU’RE LITTLE INSIGNIFICANT BURGERS DOES NOT COMPARE TO THOSE OUTSIZED BUNS OVER THERE!” Rinrin pointed at the other three girls, who reacted differently, but collectively covered their chest in response.

It was strange, all of them are far beyond me, and yet…

I don’t know, maybe it’s because of Ichika-san, maybe it’s Rinrin, I feel a strange sense of familiarity. Somehow, I’m not afraid anymore…

Irish leaned against the wall and smiled, blood dribbling down the sides of his slightly parted lips. His entire body was covered in numerous bruises and cuts, but he didn't care. He'd what he needed to do, Tatenashi and Maya were safe, and he had no regrets.

Across from him, the corpse of a woman in her mid 20's lied in a giant pool of blood. All around her were parts of obsidian black machinery. Autumn was her name, and he finally killed after all these years.

Whoever told him revenge wasn't satisfying was lying. He felt satisfied, like nothing could damped his mood. He''d been waiting 8 year for this, 8 years of sleepless nights and nightmares leading up to this moment.

While he had to admit that it felt sort of anti-climactic. he was nevertheless satisfied. He had wanted her to die slowly, like she did to Allen, but beggars couldn't be choosers. At the end of the day, she was dead and he was the one who landed the final blow. She died knowing the child she spared out of arrogance years ago was the one to end her.

"Irish, are you alright?"

Irish looked up weakly and saw Tatenashi's concerned face. It hurt him even now that she was so concerned about him, no matter how selfish he acted and how much trouble he caused her.

"Yeah, I'm alright...." He suppressed a cough as he felt blood trickle out of his injured stomach, "You need to go up and help the others. Don't worry about me."

He could hear the sounds of yelling and gunfire above him. Even if he won this battle, the fight wasn't over. Others needed her help and he was just a liability now.

"What about you? I'm not leaving you like this!"

There was that concern and kindness again, the one he didn't deserve. He gave a bitter smile and looked back at her.

"Don't worry about me. I called for help earlier when you were still out," Irish re-assured her, "They should be here any minute now. Just go up and help Ichika before he gets himself in trouble again."

His best friend was in danger. He couldn't help him himself, but she could.

"A-Are you sure?" Tatenashi's voice uncharacteristically cracked, "-Maybe I should stay behind till they get-"

She didn't get to finish. Irish reached his right hand out and cupped her face gently, giving her one of his rare smiles, "I'll be fine. I'm not the one who needs your help right now. I already called for help, so please don't worry. Don't you trust me?"

It was the first, and last, lie he'd given her.

Truth be told, he wouldn't have been surprised if she said no.

"Yeah...I trust you!" Tatenashi stood up and gave him a forced smile, "I'll help Ichika-kun and the others and then I'll be back for you. Wait for me."

Irish watched her go. Even after everything seemed hopeless, she still managed to remain so cheerful and energetic. She was someone unique in that sense, someone who managed to get to him in ways nobody else could.

He would miss that about her.

Waiting until her footsteps faded, Irish groped at his side and pulled out the radio, ".....Hey, is anybody still there?" He asked warily.

A burst of static greeted him for a few seconds before a voice broke through, "Yes sir, is there anything you need?" The voice sounded panicked. Irish could hear the sounds of screaming in the background and the rushing of water.

"Yes, I need he-......." He paused. There was something else he wanted to ask, "...Are there a lot of injured down there?" Irish asked after a moment of thought.

"Yes sir, civilian casualties are at a high percentage. The debris and burns from the tower have caused dozens of dead and hundreds injured," The sounds of an explosion rocked the radio, "All emergency staff are currently busy tending to the wounded, but you are our top priority. Do you need assistance?"

He didn't have to ask what the man on the other end meant. They'd need an entire group to clear the debris and go fetch him, a group that was sorely needed to help the other injured civilians.

"No.....I'm just checking in. Keep up the good work."

He turned the radio off before the man could respond. Those people would die if he asked for help, and it was his life over his. As Joshua taught him not long ago, "The needs of the many outweighed the needs of the few".

Only now did he understand the gravity of those words.

Sighing, he leaned back across the wall. Feeling was already beginning to leave his body and it wouldn't be long before he was gone. With the last of his energy, he closed his eyes. A soft smile adored his lips and a single tear dropped down his right cheek.

Yea.... I am quite curious too....

What make him think that Jak is the go to guy for that weak and soft kind of Deconstruction for IS-verse?

I mean, Jak strike me more of a Gear of War kind of writer... you know, the kind who go for dark, gritty, rated M for manly (there is nothing wrong with that, it just my personal preference that I dislike/hate applying Gear of War, super manly solution to IS)....

Unless I am going for similar approach.... (which I won't because I wanted to go for other stuff not cover by other Writers).

Question: Is it alright for somebody to use a stick to hit others so that the character won't hurt fingers (because the said-character need dexterous finger to play music instrument)?
