One of my most favourite games: THIEF. Anyone played that? I remember playing Thief : Gold; the second installment (was it called The Metal Ages or something?); and I still have the third installment Deadly Shadows.
For the first two what really really impressed me was the whole mystique magic-techno apocalypse feel the game exuded. Especially that WONDERFULLY nice feeling of being free to lurk around in the darkness and spy on unsuspecting A.I., and yet that spine-tingling holy-cow-I've-run-out-of-holy-water-I've-got-to-run feeling when you encountered ghosts or zombies. (I was quite young when I played them) Sadly, I felt that in Thief 3, alot of that original atmosphere was somehow lost. But nonetheless, it still had alot more atmosphere than many games out there. I also like Call of Duty, both 1 and 2, for the gut-wrenching realism it put you thru. It felt so sad when they ended so quickly. Homeworld also deserves mention, especially Catacylsm, for being a very emotional game. edit: Yes, yes, its as wsheit puts it.. THIEF was all about immersion.. I was on those rooftops, I was pilfering from the Hammers, I .... Last edited by Lost; 2006-06-15 at 13:58. |

I'll never sell games again. You just made me realize how many games I've sold that I'd like to play now. Gimme my games back, damn it! |
