I can't believe it that Cross Game has ended in eps 52...
Cross Game really is one of the best series during Spring 09 to Winter 10... And Aoba is one of the best female character i've ever known... It took 50 episodes for she to release her feeling... Thanks, Adachi Mitsuru for making this great story and Synergy SP for animating it... Last edited by Azuma Denton; 2010-03-29 at 07:43. |

Man I loved that ending too bad it ended :/ now I feel a bit sad since there isn't any other anime that can move me as much as Cross Game did this past year :/ I mean, what else is there that is up to par with this show? ^.^

I am happy to add this into my list of animes that have nice endings. It's one thing to have a happy ending but another thing for it to leave you satisfied. I was so worried they would end it with some open ending. But this was the perfect ending for Cross Game. I loved it.
That picture frame was sweet Now just release the soundtrack and I won't have anything to complain about! PS: I am really really glad I didn't watch the preview last week! |

Kou: "How long long are we going to hold hands?"
Aoba: "If you don't like it, let go." Yup... now that was a well handled tsundere.

In other words the "ending" was the end to the pain they were holding onto about Wakaba's death, not by forgetting her, but by remembering her with joy. Which by the way was why I consistently said that Aoba was the only girl for Kou. Only with Aoba could he remember Wakaba with joy. Now that the wound has healed, now they can move forward, holding hands and all that. I think the 1st ending (extended version) would have been a perfect ending. It's very interesting, but in many ways, Cross Game has almost exactly the same message about love and death that Maison Ikkoku does.

Ha! I waited! So the last two episodes in a row as the finale for me.
Oh man ... the end. But wow a happy end I really like! It left me teary eyed and smiling This was really a different kind of ride. In a sports anime it's normally (or often) all about winning and being the best of the world, with a little personal affairs thrown in as a distraction. But not here. I really like that they ended it at that point .. it was all about getting to Koshien, if they win there isn't of importance. I also liked that Ryou weren't the usual baddies, but good people themselves. That made the last game even more enjoyable for me. I really don't have to say anything about Aoba and Kou, do I? Their scenes were more then 'awww' worthy .. and really nicely handled imo. This was a real enjoyable anime Thx for advertising it like crazy, wouldn't have watched it otherwise XD PS: The preview was plainly mean D: I knew it would be spoilerific but THAT ... woa. Took a lot of the tension from the last episode, even so I watched it right after. (And yeah I know 'I told you so', my fault for not listening XD) |

woo, we got a global warning for our avatar/sig combos. fight the power! i'll get around to changing mine when i finish making mine, which won't be soon cause i got MCAT studying..
anywho, i think the first end would have fit well, since it talked about not knowing what you loved while it was in front of you or something. anyways, the original ending song was pretty good too though. I also enjoyed the slight epilogue we got. Anywho, i'm rather happy with the ending. though for some reason, the "I love Aoba the most" line sort of got lost because it was right before the commercial break. they could have drawn it out another few seconds for it to sink in i think.

What Koh said just before the first commercial break--the way it echoed. Across. Infinity. I think I had heart palpitations.
Great ending, Synergy SP! Although, the best animation and art direction for me was in 48, and as was mentioned, there was choppy pacing here and there during this last leg (ex: Azuma's appearance after the credits, despite the appropriateness considering whose wedding he's at, was awkward, IMO), but who cares. These guys delivered!! Now that it's gone what can I read to fill the void...? |
