Yeah, Ash's Pikachu isn't really level 99... it's more like level 100+ and it just pretends it's weaker along with Ash to piss off the viewers encroaching on their adventure's privacy.

Pikachu that can fry ground types, and face off against legendaries... really would have no trouble against a mega... though mega lucario is one of my favorite pokemon I have got to say.

I finally saw episode 41. That was pretty nice.

I haven't seen Ash doing that sort of thing for a while (I haven't been the following the show for at least a couple of seasons)... the last time I remember something like that was either from the Entei movie, the pokemon heroes movie, the deoxys movie, the lucario movie, the mirage pokemon movie..., heck any of the pokemon movies.

(that includes the recent ones...) But I liked seeing Ash being cool for once.

i wonder what pokemons he going to use in korrina gym since it going to be after the next episode and i wonder if he going to use that dance thing for strategy against mega lucario

the teaser released a few weeks ago still showing Pikachu vs (Mega?)Lucario, but it can still be like the previous gym where he gets the last hit. Then again, Pikachu needs to get over this mental hurdle

Ok, so why didn't Satoshi/Ash use Froakie? It would have made more sense if it had been a battle between starters, really missed an opportunity. Also to hell with the rythim strategy bring back counter-shield or mixed them together.
