So it is a Chieri episode talking everything about her background, her childhood and the event before the pologue and the aftermath of the prologue. She mentioned something about her mother and older beother .

Mr. Sono looks like a caring dad in a diffrent way. At the moment his heart got touched, he got shot by a sniper...MEN!!!

Mr. Sono would pretty much have backed up Nagisa's pops' claims stating how idols are central to the dualium economy. Of course the DES, so ingrained in believing they are fighting an alien threat will refuse to listen and may try a coup to turn the DGTO to DEGO (Destroy Entertainment Galactic Order) which will open up a can of worms as it will bring back the terrible war that destroyed Earth.

Of course even if the DGTO changed their minds and entertainment is entirely lifted, suddenly the AEPS have a new source of troubles. Manufactured idols without personality without dreams designed to sing and dance for the Kirara, what will that future bring?

No way any of them can get that too far, as they follow the no-kill rule to the letter. Chances are it's a DGTO-sanctioned hit, because watching him as much as he's watching them, they suspected that Sono was committing high treason, going by left field and exploiting government/military resources for personal gain. So before he could possibly usurp the DGTO leadership, they decided to eliminate him despite being the government's largest military supplier.

Considering the talk between the girls in this episode, and their plan that needs they all to shine like Center Nova, and that piece of Duallium, I think we may get somewhat of a reprise of S1 last episode, and have everyone together triggering the Center Nova phenomenon.

Something i would like to happen in the last episode, to make it a more epic fight, is to have many ex member appear to help. Like the Tomochin family, the previous Sae, and others even of they just say they came to help and don't actually show their faces (so that they won't have to create designs for many more girls).

I also think it would be interesting that when the portal opens, the previous Center Nova comes to help in the fight, even if many of them are going to go back there afterwards. To have Acchan appears just long enough to talk with them can bring closure to Tsubasa and maybe to Miichan possible guilty to have run away from the Center Nova position.

There is one thing interesting about this episode, Mr. Sono seems to look for a miracle related to time and space. Is he trying to change the past?

Looking at this episode, something interesting come to my mind. Can kirara be killed? Since Mr. Sono did not crush Chieri's kirara with his hands.

This is something not answered yet in this series. For example, how could Acchan communicate with all of them while she is somewhere else and manipulate the power of the kirara? how can she communicate with Nagisa in her dream? It is like she become a goddess.

Maybe we will see Yuuko help them just like how Acchan help them in last season. Improving the power of micsaber?

AKB0048 24 - A Little Love in Your Heart

What I found most interesting about this episode was its use of music. Or rather, its use of silence. Much of Chieri's backstory, fittingly, had almost no BGM playing until it got to the point where she started singing, which of course got a reprise later in the episode. This episode was worth it for that scene alone. An insert song performance that's both diegetic and up there with the greats. There's been a lot of great AKB48 songs played during this show, but this one has the most emotional impact. (Mimori/Mariko's debut number was my favorite until now, or "Blue rose", or... let's just say there's a lot.) Nagisa didn't do a whole lot, but her family situation serves as a nice foil for Chieri's. And after that cliffhanger, really looking forward to next week.

* BTW that's quite hard to swallow a galaxy wide powerful corporate CEO of a weapons manufacturing company no less, having an office with wide windows of seemingly non-bulletproof windows AND having his desk positioned where his back is to that said window.

anyway I also wondered about that brother reveal, i guess it's possible. maybe the telescope also ties in with it, Chieri's flashbacks shows her looking at her father's office with that telescope.

Wow. Never saw that coming, and it seems likely as has been suggested that DGTO did the hit (after all, Mr Sono was dealing with the enemy) but will seek to give 0048 the blame to further destroy their reputation

Although I also wonder whether it was all a sham, he shot out the window and lay face down in a pool of fake blood, while the servant was primed to keep Chieri away so nobody got a good look.

I wonder how they're go do that. I mean, it's not like they can glow like Chieri and Nagisa just because they want to. Those two have a special talent the others just don't. What happened in S1 seems like an isolated case due to a very special situation to me. Well, we'll have to wait and see I suppose.


On another note, I'm kinda entertaining the ideal of Chieri's not-dead brother being the head of DES. That'd be a nice surprise for the final, specially if he goes to Akibastar along with his army.

Well damn, I didn't see that coming. I wasn't really expecting Chieri to get through to her father, but didn't expect him to be assassinated either. I would suspect he was taken out by hardliners (if there is any other kind) within the DGTO. Feeling that his experimenting was going too far and was too dangerous. That and for the sake of his goals he was letting a lot of secrets come lose (like the gambling) and was abusing his authority. That or someone just wanted his job and wanted to pin the blame on AKB0048.

Either way, terrible moment for Chieri. Really pouring her heart out to her father in that song and hoping to find a way to reach him. But at the peak of it all he just gets killed and that chance of true reconciliation is gone (unless he did fake his death).

Of course now I really have no idea where this is all going to go. Have the most clear villain of the series killed and have to quickly move onto recapturing Akibastar. And heck maybe while they are at it they can finally resolve this Takamina conflict .

If the anime don't end with this season I would like that development. But if it does then I wouldn't like that to happen. I think there is already enough things to be solved in the two last episodes to add that.

We've seen those girls take down mecha with their mic-sabers. If anything, I'd say those eight guys were lucky the girls were unarmed when they walked in.

Sono-tousan getting snipered was... kinda anti-climactic. Maybe because I have the expectation already set him up as the last boss, but still, I expected more action and/or drama before they off the guy.

And it's not as if Chieri got any closure either with her father, as he died right before she can do a heart to heart with him. Maybe would be a plot point later, not giving in to hate (join the Dark Side Chieri! XD), but I'm going to be very disappointed if that's the last we hear of the Father-daughter relationship.
