I am not talking about the audience those shows are aiming towards, I am talking about the creators behind those shows. A lot of them are well into their 30s, others in their 40s.
Look at Miyazaki, he creates anime a broad audience can enjoy, but the man is old, old... - Tak

I was referring to the fact that there are very few viewers of that age. I.e. Westerners.

But prime-time Gundam have always been targeted to majorities, and clearly...the otakus are one of them, but they're not enough to constitute as a full-formed majority. On the other side of discussions, just because the targer audience of 00 is not adults doesn't mean jack. SEED wasn't adult-targeted to begin with, and it had its share of fans, lots of em' just as there are bashers of SEED before it even aired...like right now with 00. Likewise for every other show.

but can it match the level of gs & uc?
besides that it take place 300 years from now & like will it be a success or a flop? & besides gs series has dominated the 00s years & that gundam 00 is no match against gs.

^^^ We can never really be certain of that fact until G 00 has aired and starts having avatar requests/debates/flame wars/etc....
We still only know so little about this anime, so it's unfair to make sweeping statements like how bad it would get, or how evil it is compared to GS and Destiny... I'm pretty sure that both UC and SEED did wonders into introducing a whole new genre to several otaku/mech fans who wanted something new and original, and that they would be expected to stand the test of time...Amuro and Char is still as popular as ever, and that's something, considering the Gundam franchise is old, and the CE is relatively young as of yet. We would only see in a few years more if Kira and Lacus would still remain as popular as they are now...and have they withstood the test of time, maybe, say 20 years from now on too... Anyway, I like the new series, from the screenshots I've seen. For some strange reason, the artwork reminds me strongly of a Wing + CLAMP hybrid...O.o;;

Grow up, children. Code Geass cannot compete with Gundam on any scale whatsoever. Gundam has been around for nearly thirty years and has established a powerful fanbase that runs circles around Geass fifty times over. The end result will lie in the ratings and the DVD sales. Nothing can prove whether or not the SEED movie will pwn the new series or vice versa. Let's stop the narking and talk about this when you can... ya know, back that up with facts and figures. =)

This is a new Gundam series, i'm loving the look of it, though that can't be said for a lot of people. All i can say is that it'll be interesting --- but there's no point taking sides.

^Because Code Geass is a ratings and critically acclaimed success and it's a mecha show produced by Bandai...If they can infuse some of that success into a new Gundam series that wouldn't hurt at all...

from wiki: Since its premiere, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion has collected numerous awards and accolades. At the sixth annual Tokyo Anime Awards held at the 2007 Tokyo International Anime Fair, Code Geass won the best TV anime series award.[11] On noted Japanese anime magazine Animage's 29th Annual Anime Grand Prix, Code Geass won the most popular series award, with Lelouch Lamperouge also being chosen as the most popular male character and "Colors" being chosen as the most popular song.
@duckroll - I've seen no proof of horrible ratings (provide them)...and what the heck has Gundam won recently other than fan-based character polls? Not for show content (Like Geass)...I'm content with the overall praise of Geass and my own opinions on the show to understand that a new Gundam show with any influences from it wouldn't be something I'm against...In any event Bandai has a winner with it and from what I've read it's more than the superficial reasonings of what character is more l33t (It's praise acutally comes from themes and story)...If that timeslot does suck as you say then you'd have to judge CG's ratings relative to the shows that appeared before it...
