I can't say the first episode was any exciting. Production wise, it was quite good, with a very smooth design and animation, although music direction is sort of flat (with completely silent sequence as well).
The real problem with the first ep of R;N is really the content, which is downright boring: Kaito is really deadpan, hardly giving any appealing aspect of his personality yet, while Akiho is the complete opposite and really is way too pushy for everyone's good, including herself.

Really, nothing really happened (which is understandable for a first episode I guess), but what's alarming is really the mood and characters interactions, which are nearly absent. Not really a good start, hopefully getting more steam within 2 episodes.

Honestly, Psycho-Pass appears to only cater the likes of people who had enjoyed the Ghost in the Shell series. And I'm not one of them.

Well that club certainly has both extremes covered. Kaito giving Houtarou (Hyouka) a decent run for his money in terms of energy conservation. Akiho really brought all the energy, though I suppose you could argue a bit too much. Still, considering this is a two person club and the other one won't do much unless you beat him at a game where he's ranked 5th best on the planet....she kind of has to be all fired up. Will be good when they grab those members at the start of the episode and create some dynamics.

Visually I thought it looked great. Plus I give props to the app that made Akiho look like a neko maid . Too much fun could be had with that kind of thing.

I do remember that Steins;Gate didn't REALLY draw me in until the end of episode 12 (Mayushii kept my interest in the show long enough until then). I don't know if Robotics;Note will have a twist like that, but I do like Aki and I'll give the show some chance to really grab me.

It was great. The main characters are likable, the animation is above average, and the incoming competition is a great hook to end the first episode with. They will have to gather new members obviously, and I'm excited to see that blond girl. I bet she's the one that fought Kaito in the game, the "creator" who thought he was cheating. I lol'ed at the message.

There was a heavy focus on the EXOSKELETON on the TV, wonder if that will come into play at some point further into the story.

That girl at the end was weird, she had a mark on her forehead and was holding a feather. She was reporting the present time/date/location, and further saying that the situation remains unchanged. Maybe she is a time-traveler? She was the only character to appear on the ED, so we will see more of her.

That shit was so great

Loved the music at 20'30 and in the very beginning of the anime
jesus i want to see the next one right now.

I'm just following the old series chaos head and the girl in the end kinda said the same stuff , pretty weird.
Maybe the line story is chaos head , robotics notes and then steins gate ?
Anyway great anime , cool animation sometimes , great characters , enjoyable plot (the last episode of gunvarrel never released yet)

Op and Ed are ok , But the OST is magestic.

Want to see more .

I can't make my mind up. It was a solid episode, but nothing particularly grabbed me. I mean, I love robots, but more the Isaac Asimov variety (ie: Time of Eve), than Big Robot variety (ie: Mazinger Z).

Then the ending hinting at a time traveler. Now, I don't know what to think. Other than I'll continue to watch.

Considering it's in the same universe as Chaos;Head & Steins;Gate, I'd put "mid-series major twist" odds at 1.5 to 1. Especially as they flashed up the World Lines percentage at the very beginning.

The first episode was surprisingly straightforward compared to the other Science;Adventure series, without a single WTF moment.

The MC is mildly amusing, but by the end of the ep I was wishing he'd get lost so the story could focus on Aki who's actually, you know, doing stuff instead of playing a video game all the time.

This is a show for me that's about people like me so needless to say I quite enjoyed it even if it's looking to be a slow build like Steins;Gate. All the mecha love made it pretty fun for me at the get go though as well as some of the references and shout outs to classics like Gundam, Gaogaigar, Nadesico and the like. Also the game version of Gunvarrel was like a perfect reskin of Gundam vs games. It even looked to play much the same.

Really looking forward to seeing where this goes. The excellent production values for the first episode were nice too. Lot of really good looking stuff coming out this season, there's obviously a lot of money getting tied up in anime again.

This show is off to a good start with a steady pace. The main characters are likable which is great.

Dream LARGE!

quite enjoyable really, especially the dynamics between the two main characters. You have Akiho dragging Kaito everywhere while Kaito follows without any complaints. I wouldn't be surprised if the real leader is Kaito within the pair. The slightly immature antics from Akiho is quite cute to watch without feeling too forced (I'm looking at you, eyepatch girl). At the same time I can also relate to Kaito's socially withdrawn behaviour since he's more focused on the game stuff.

laughed at the part where Akiho *opens* the gate and then runs off to pull the lever.

Hmm, that was nice.

The first episode showed a lot of promise. I thoroughly enjoyed this story's unfolding, the characters may not be original but I did find them rather likable, seeing as how they're geeks. Also, that tablet technology was pretty neat and fun to watch, I wonder when we will see something similar in reality.

Will keep watching.

I need another episode to decided about this... Its relation to Stein;Gate was the reason that urged me to watch the series....

Nothing interesting have been reveal yet. It’s still early to judge if this anime will live up to it’s hype. Considering the bar set by Stein gate, the expectation will be high (even though those two are fellow 5pb and Nitro+ productions). Does anyone know if this is 1 cour or 2 cour show? This kind of anime usually work better with 2 cour.

BTW, who the heck that long purple haired mysterious girl? She seemed like an alien for me.
