Dragon Breath was said to be base off the Dragon that fought Saint George. It's an 'english' spell.

Alot of powerful individuals have been shown to bypass that slow rune drawing stage, in fact that might be a sign of their power from normal mages. If magic is all a formula, then the more powerful, knowlegable casters can do mental calculations without writing them out.

What about Etzali? He almost mastered his grimoires and doesn't needs any complex ritual to cast magic fro them.

I mean the symbolic meaning behind the dragon.

the answer for Etzali would be simple. Different types of grimoires lead to different type of spells. And there are spells that use direct attack or area of effect then there are those with no casting time and casting time. There also those who need preparations and there those who could unleash it without it.

Etzali just falls on the category of one them. There are lots of RPG with different magic system. The author probably adapt one of the traditional type or the new type.

Dragon as a symbol had tons of meaning behind it.

Because that is Pendex who has 103 000 grimoires at her beck and call and who just thrashed Necessarius?

also, how does Index cast all those powerful spells without the need for a circle, chant or anything of the sort? unless it's just that the stronger spells are stupidly easy to cast?
Carissa vapes cities by swinging Curtana Original. Fianma throws city killer spells and 40m flaming swords at will. Acqua summons hurricanes of water and steam to wipe out military bases with ease. Gabriel's Sweep is also an "at will" spell. Aureolus just needs to speak. Knight Leader's Salom Formula doesn't need any magic circles either.....seriously, once you are pass Terra's level, mages and others of the Magic side hurl spells left and right like water.

I mean why only her seems to be able to deal with those grimoires.

BTW, how operative is Laura's control? Is she still on St. Cathedral or is on a safe location while trolls Stiyl?

Don't forget Aurrelus, the guy was playing ping-pong with Gunha's body.

Another question:
Are there more legendary weapons(summoned by Index) who has a name?

She calls up a whole bunch towards the end when she sprouts her red wings. One of them is 『豊穣神の剣』 Sword of the Harvest God. A companion to the earlier Sword of Freyr.

Laura doesn't appear much after Stiyl joins battle.

Harvest God?
Mmmm... so far there is a Harvest Goddess from the Greek Mythology alled Demeter, is she?
But, since the sword is a companion for Sword of Freyr it must be the goddess Sif a.k.a. Thor's waifu.

Likely....there's no katakana so I wouldn't know....but Index assessed that Stiyl's magic had Scandinavian origins and turned that against him along side the anti-Christian formula (eli eli lama sabachthani_ named after one of Christ's last words)

^ which Pendex decided to just skip the formulas when Stiyl brought out 3 Innocentius. She decided it's more efficient to just destroy the core of the spell that splits Innocentius into three, ie Stiyl, first.

And before the Battle Report in Vol21, Laura was basically casually walking after them while waving the remote she has to Stiyl, hinting he can give up anytime he feels like it so she can finally get to work. And doing that with a smile on her face too. It's suggested all Laura has to do is press a few buttons and Pendex will stop attacking Stiyl, as long as Laura is within sight of Index. But the strain on Index's mind will be huge as commands from two controls contradict each other.

Laura has the same remote as the one Fiamma filched off the England Royal Family. It's that when Laura starts the remote to interfere with Fiamma's one Index will be more focused on stopping the 2nd remote than attacking Stiyl, not that Laura can give the command to Index and Index will obey it.

You know, this is possibly one of those cliches that build up to one of those cliche moments where anime directors suddenly make deep-seated memories conquer external control.

Index gets all her memories back, recognizes Styl, remembers the fun times in Necessarius and breaks free while kicking logic to the curb?

Then that would make her target Laura no? Thus Laura must really be something if she's not afraid of taking on Pendex...

Actually she is very quit, she is more foccused on what to do to take down Fiamma rather than the destruction and pwned members on Necessarius done by Index.

You know....the more I think about it, the safer I feel it is to put her and Aleister up there on the power chart along with the likes of Gabriel and Kazakiri.

So it took me long enough to realize this but if there's one thing that Index and OreImou's Kirino have in common, it's that people find both of them b*tchy / annoying...
