I really hope they at least drop the ED for next episode. Really going to need all the time they can get.

Rin's departure

what I hope to also see:

Kengo and Riki discussing the meaning of the "little busters"
Riki failing to keep the work he got because of his narcolepsy
Rin texting Riki
Kyousuke stopping riki from going to Rin's school, and tells him to wait out the week

I agree. These events have to be in the next episode, as well as Kengo telling them that running away will lead to darkness. Since the title for next episode is 'After the escape', I have a feeling that (most of) the second half of the episode will focus on grandpa's house and the bad end.

The episode will probably start with Rin's departure right away. After that we'll see some texting from Riki/Rin and Riki talking to Komari, who tells him that she can't reach Rin. After that Riki will beg Kyousuke to get Rin back. I think Kyousuke will give in without the baseball matches, because of the lack of time. Rin returns and the Riki/Kengo vs Kyousuke/Masato match will happen. Halfway the episode Riki and Rin run away.
Then we get Riki/Rin entering grandpa's house, some flashbacks to the LB camp, some scenes with the cats, Riki collapsing because of narcolepsy and then the bad end. The fishing scenes will be cut.

I'm not expecting them keep it in, since they won't even have much time to animate the important events. I'm choosing some scenes with Guts and Ifran over the bath scene. I want to see Riki catch that ugly cat, especially since most other scenes with cats were cut already.

I'm expecting 'Regret' to play at the end of the episode, just like in the VN. Maybe they'll animate the world becoming darker and darker during the song and show Kyousuke/Masato/Kengo looking angry/sad? And then when the song's over, we'll get Riki's vow?

Where was this stated?
In my head, I can see this playing as a montage of Riki's time away from Rin.
EDIT: Or maybe even a montage for when they escape.

I have to say that these lyrics fit the next episode perfectly. It's like this song is telling the story of Riki and Rin from the moment Riki and Rin run away until the start of Refrain. The start of the song is from Rin's PoV and the second half is from Riki's PoV.

“Let’s aim for the life on the other side of the wall.”
You put your arms around the shoulders of the me who was frail and seemed like I’d break,
And we walked anywhere inside the deep darkness.

Rin's PoV
Riki decides to run away with Rin who is about to break down. The deep darkness is a reminder of what Kengo told them.

The refrain of the song
I guess it's about Riki's and Rin's dream to live a happy life together.

The summer we passed alone together began.
The tatami mats we stepped on roughly hurt my bare feet.

Riki's vow to become stronger.

Since the song is sung in the past tense, it would make sense that the song would be near the end of the episode, when 'the bad stuff' has already happened. But it could be placed at the moment they run away and start living together as well.

Wow you're right. Based on that, I get the feeling most of the story after they run away will be told through a montage. It'd explain how they plan to fit all that content in one episode.

Hanabi will be played as an ED. Little Busters!'s web site said that the third BD will have the ED for chapter 6 so there will be a different ED for chapter 6, most probably Hanabi.
The website also said that chapter 8 will have a different ED most probablt Waking up in the morning next to you, the vocal version of Waking up in the morning. Probably for Masato's ED due to its cheerful tone and some of the lyrics match his personality (Like when he says Shimataaaa)

I love Hanabi, but I sure hope it isn't the ending. I love 'Regret' even more and I would really like to see it as the ending for Rin 2 in the anime as well.

Wow Hanabi? Really? I remember that song from long, long ago! Good to see it being used and that they are switching up the endings (unlike a certain other studio).

Speaking of songs why didn't they use 何も起こらなかった世界 (Nothing Happened In This World) when Kyousuke was speaking with Riki? It really impacted that scene for me. Do you think they don't want to over use it?

Well there's always a possibility. If the next episode like I predicted ends at Riki discovering who is behind the "Secret of the World" letter, then it is possible to slip the Miles scene in there somewhere, but we'll see.

I have a bad feeling that track might not be used since they seemingly composed a new song for that kyousuke scene. That's really unfortunate and a damn shame of course because that one track really made an impact on me in refrain/rin 2.

OT note, what is with people speculating in episode threads? If I were an anime only viewer I would be pissed. I had a few things spoiled once because of something like this once.

They didn't quite send home the message about Riki's narcolepsy here when he collapses while trying to work. That's the only major thing I think we really missed out on.


Of course there are a lot of other scenes I would have liked to see, but I think most of the important stuff of Rin 2 made it through in tack.

Yeah, the most important scenes made it in.

I just missed Riki saying to Kengo that he wants to run away with Rin and Kengo answering that there will nothing but darkness/despair waiting for them. That if he'll let go of her hand even once, he'll never get her back. This would make Riki's sentence 'I won't let go of this hand' and the scene of Riki's and Rin's hands separating in the end even more powerful.

The most important was in there but I really feel they should've included a few more details on their escape. That and I thought some scenes were altered in a way that didn't satisfy me.

But hey, I suppose we can't get everything we want in a VN-to-anime adaptation. Still pumped for the following episodes! (I REALLY hope we get to hear the "a world where nothing happened" BGM in Rin2 and Refrain centered episodes)

Loved how they clearly showed Kengo using his broken arm. The anime seems to really do a good job on the little details like that, although there's yet to be any big payoff from it.

The lampposts going out one by one as Riki and Rin ran past them was a nice touch as well. This made it seem like they were really running towards the darkness.
