Saw episode 9, great ep. as always. Shame the subbers aren't into it...

Great episode, the barbarians are scary, Guin punches stuff and continues to act as a father figure to random kids, and Merus shows once again that, while he's not as strong and charismatic as Guin, he's ridiculously clever.

I feel sorry for the Crimson mercenary though, he clearly didn't enjoy his role in all this. No wonder he's on a rather dark path...

Anyway I'm beginning to think Guin is deliberately provoking the Mongaul army at this point, in order to make them becoming more and more reckless.
He mocked Astreus first, Amnelis after, and made the Mongaul army appearing as a bunch of fools. I bet that the news that Marus got burnt alive by a traitor on Guin's order will make things much worse than they were already!
In the preview Mongauls are making an all out assult on the Sems and this will be the end of Mongaul's ambitions over Nospherus...

Its exactly what hes doing using an enemies pride aganist them. When you get arrogant army who holds there honor above all else. Its very easy to provoke them into a conflict just by insulting them. The easiest target was the princess who given her status can not let any offense go unanswered and the result is well you saw it. She was concerned about her own honor and did not heed the warnings of her commanders who are battle hardened but obliged to follow orders and they walked right into Guin's trap which i must say was well thought out.

Not only did Guin get them to take the bait by hitting them where it hurts but also maneuvered the enemy into a location where the numbers did not mean squat. Then he went as far as to make the enemy split itself making there numbers smaller brilliant tactics and now not only are Mongual's on the defensive but confused as to what action to take next.

I really hope episode 8 and 9 get subbed by someone. Im really enjoying this series.

Patience, lad. I've been watching Anime-Yoshi's subs, and they've released three episodes in the past month alone. Having watched shows where the subs are months behind the airings in Japan, this pace isn't bad at all.

Jeesh, kids these days. Always so impatient!

Guin Saga has become my favorite current anime running today, mainly for it's action scenes and I really enjoy the characters and the development of the entire party as a whole. The first few episodes were just action packed thrill rides with traces of a great story mixed in, and now we are being treated to an all out war in the works, just awesome. My only complain is that Guin is beating his enemies with little to no problem, I feel he needs a strong competitor and someone who could really make things interesting in the battle. So far Guin has beaten the "great ape", Vanon and Astreas with ease and his party has done extreamly well against an army twice their size, I just hope we see a challenge soon (I have yet to see episode 9 so maybe this will be it!). I am definatly excited to see where this awesome series is going, the story about Linda and Remus being heirs to a throne and Guin trying to keep them to keep their heads held high has been very entertaining thus far, Guin Saga definatly is a welcome series to my anime watching habbits.

ipernorris Senior Member Join Date: May 2007	Spoiler for Episode 10: I've seen the raw for this episode and I'm happy! Why? The Mongauls got owned by the Sems and the giants... At the beginning Amnelis is greatly saddened for Marus' death and she even cried! (Take that bitch!) Then Astreaus proposes to send a small exploration unit in order to locate the Sems village and he proposes to lead that unit himself. It gets approved and they manage to locate the village I think. After this Amnelis launch an all out attack on the Sems and Mongauls have the upper hand... this until Guin appears with the giants, changing radically the outcome of the battles. The giants are awesome: they can throw away in air two/three Mongaul soldiers at a time... they even managed to kill that magician who looked like an undead! Amnelis herself was in danger to get killed, but Astreas saved her! ( ) After this the Mongaul withdrew, after suffering huge losses. Ah episode 9 subtitles are out.

silverwolf0 Member Join Date: Sep 2007	Spoiler for Ep 09 thoughts: If I read the synopsis before watching Guin's dealings with the Lagon, I would have probably skipped the episode if it was any other series besides Guin Saga. They manage to barely pull it off with how well they always present and pace everything, but it's hard to take cave men seriously when they talk and act so simplistically, no offense to the Geico bunch. It was kind of painful to watch Guin pep rally them near the end, like herding cattle, and his speech was pretty icky rudimentary as well. AND THANK YOU FRONG!

After the victory at the end, the old Lagon grandfather asks Guin if he would be willing to rule over the Sem and the Lagon, as King of all Nospherus... to which Guin replies "That might be a good idea, I like this desert." This smells like a setup for an eventual major Nospherus vs Gohra battle. And for the complaints about how Guin wins battles too easily, I wouldn't say that too soon. His alliance still has no defense against magic/supernatural, and if the two other Gohra powers decide to intervene, they would be outnumbered so much it would be nearly impossible to win head-on (Not without more allies which I'm sure they will make). Also, what they fought against this time was just a small portion of the Mongol army. Oh yeah, Remus gained a few more pussy points, they keep on adding up.
