Had a few rounds with Tizoc, he feels very weird to play, both as and against; his throw range is super close, his command inputs are demanding for the game's speed and his running throw is... well, telegraphed. OTOH fighting against a max level PC, he would whiff punish with throws for ridiculous amounts of damage, like 35% or something... and he'd do it all the time, without fail.
So yeah, he's super strong, but incredibly difficult to use, let alone master. I like having this sort of character in the game, it rewards hard work and taking risks with reads. |

From what I gather, it's going to be a separate mode. The new Evo matches got a lot of new stuff out: Hokutomaru, Gato, Billy, Dong Hwan, Marco, Kevin, Ronaldo and Salvatore gameplay!
Ronaldo seems pretty OP, he's got a lot of oki and his dash seems faster than it should be... his damage is also off the charts. Salvatore looks more balanced, though he's got a huge hitbox on his forward jabs and his sweep is also an anti-air!? From the normal roster, Hokutomaru is an Andy/Mai mix, as expected. Cool stuff, but he needs labbing to get down the frames for his teleport. Can't say much about Dong Hwan, Gato or Kevin, but Billy and Marco are looking great, with lots of options and fair trades between reach and safety - good combo potential, too. Two weeks to go until the game's release! |

The wiki says it's only been two years from MotW, but the narration says that TEN years passed. I don't know what to believe, though Hokutomaru definitely grew up from his 14 year-old self. Rock could either be 19 or 27, I honestly can't tell.

The decade timeskips is definitely between Real Bout and Garou since those are the last two Fatal Fury canon stories connected while Special and Newcomers had no content other than some dialogues and what ever was the PSONE version.

They're doing a LOT of promotion, this was for the boxing match on 26/4, but I really wish they'd done something like the Red Bull Kumite in Paris. It also had a short story which I can't find atm, it was like 15' long.

The video is good but SNK really likes retelling the ending of Real Bout over and over again. It would have been instead if the beginning focused on evil blood battle between Rock and Kain.

People have been leaking the game in Youtube and it doesn't help that the thumbnail is filled by spoiler.
On better news, the reviews seem doing well with the PS5 version having a 81/100 in metacritic.

The game is pretty fun, lots of content to explore but it's surprisingly easy to do all of the accomplishments. I ended up maining Gato, I did a couple arcade runs, some EOST and the combo trials. Even those are on the easier side of things! That said, LV5 arcade is BRUTAL. Every whiff gets punished with at least 30% damage... time to hit the lab.
