I wonder who will end up doing a proper translation of this series. I haven't seen signs of someone picking it up yet or I'm just not looking hard enough.

Since we're talking about Saki: pro-hen, I'm sure someone will pick it up.

With 80 pages, it may took a while to translate.

I got a theory about something... how much do you guys think this would be plausible?

The person responsible for the emergence of Uzusan in the InterHigh is none other than Shino... Shino could be their coach or someone who built up the team...

This could explain why Hayarin considers a first-time appearing high school a contender for the National title... if so then we'll be expecting much more from Usuzan in the main manga...

Well... just saying...

I think it's an interesting theory I don't think Uzusan mentioned themselves having a coach/advisor (could be wrong), but you never know.

However, I'm sure that some of the characters being introduced in Shinohayu are going to show their faces in the main manga (outside of the ones we already know). Just have this big feeling that everything is going to tie in together somehow.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if one of them is Shiraitodai coach/adviser.

And Yeah, Shino is really a mix of Kuro, Saki and maybe a little of Shizu/Nodoka.

I know she is only 9~10 but she is as delisional about her mother that Saki is about her familly. Though I Wonder, is she sead or ?

I wouldn't call Saki delusional, her reactions are pretty normal for someone with family issues, except maybe that "I'll crush anyone to reach onee-chan" part, but that's not really delusional.

The mystery of just what happened to her Mom is probably the core of the actual story and will likely be unraveled quite slowly. Still I'm all for a nice long sidestory to tide us over with the main story's snail pacing.

So apparently Yuri Project is NOT picking up Shinohayu. Goddamnit. This means we're stuck with the Chinese names. Not happy.

Oh, and quick note, a lot of people at /a/ ALSO weren't amused, so a few people will be cycling "fixing" the Chinese translations. It's better than nothing, but at least now the Batoto version has the proper Japanese names.

that is some very disappointing news. I guess we no longer need the spoilers then.
If Ritz paces this manga well I think it could be very good. It already has a different feel to it than Achiga did.

Hmm......*read TMNBE scan because the hope for yuri project is gone*

So, Shino's tanyo with 1-sou is the mistake by author? Her friend didn't even argue about it.

Off-topic: Anyone know what fonts (text fonts) does translator use in their translations.

That's too bad. Well, actually I'm NOT in a hurry to catch up with this one as long as it doesn't have any direct impact on the main series (not yet), so I will sit back and wait to see if any proper English Translation group pick it up after 4-5 chapters were out.

Btw, just want to confirm is Shinohayu a bi-weekly release?

Next chapter is on 10/25. So it seems to be monthly. Though for a 70+ page layout that's quite acceptable.

That's not a good sign. It could cause the same problem with Achiga in terms of story pacing, but on the brighter side this one does have a better start.

Oh and there is no need to hold back on the spoiler even though I had no plan on following this one until latter. I don't mind being spoiled.

I honestly think this spin-off won't work as well as Achiga-hen.

Achiga is at least in the finals, which will be the climax of this series.

But this spin-off of a pro, who has links to the announcers and their cohort, where is this leading to?

I thought at least we can have a more in-depth of the Miyanaga family, specifically the third person in those memories of Saki, but I guess this one's not it.

It's leading to know more about the pros, including their playstyles. And to alleviate the wait for the super slow main series.

And besides, who says Ritz won't be adding Shino later in the main story?

I bet it was because of the appearance of the shoujo-guys XD Although to be fair, although I know there will be *tons* of shipping material, I can see why they can possibly consider this series/Saki as not 'real' shoujo-ai/yuri since it's mostly teasing (although I personally think it qualifies as shoujo-ai at least, especially after Nodoka talked about same-sex couples having kids).

I think it's going to tie in somehow, maybe not necessarily to Saki's family but something with the main story. At the very least I think it will be fun to see what happened with Kokaji and Harue as we learn about their pasts...and hopefully get to see Kouko gush over Kokaji
