I'm assuming this is water polo based on that graphic, which is possibly among the last major sports never to have an anime about it. It's also notoriously vicious and pretty much the domain of hard-core badasses.

OK. I was (and still am, realistically) expecting this to essentially be Free! meets Haikyu!!, but it did earn serious brownie points early on by showing that Minato doesn't just leap out of bed after a six month coma, but spends four more months in hospital, goes home walking on a crutch, and has months more physio before going to high-school.
That's a nice level of realism you don't often see. |

^ Yeah, totally. It's good that they had him actually grind and spend time studying to get into school. Younger sister Asumi is a great character. Parents are pretty down to earth, and the crash itself was something that could easily have happened to anyone given those conditions. Also, to add to the drama, we see Asumi have nightmares of the crash, so there's something that I hope they explore and develop.
Humor is ok. On point for most of the time, but I'm not really liking the annoying kohai trying to persuade him to join the waterpolo club. So "Re-main" is basically like an offside? Anyways, what an ending. That part was definitely anime cliche! |
