Megaman Legend 3 : PROJECT

Megaman Legend is back!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep-J6aMSNFo

Almost 10 years to the date after the North American release of Mega Man Legends 2, I am very excited to announce that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project is a reality!

Mega Man Legends 3 Project has just been announced at the Nintendo Conference 2010 in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS! While we can’t get into too many details, we can say that fans will have an opportunity to be part of the development process like never before as they interact directly with the team! How exactly? You'll have to stay tuned for more news at New York Comic Con!

Check out the exclusive video from Keiji Inafune above, and hit the jump for a special blog post from the game’s director, Masakazu Eguchi!

MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3 PROJECT KICKS OFF!!

Hi everyone! This is Masakazu Eguchi, director of MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3!

So, how about that Keiji Inafune special interview? Did you like that?

As you can see, Inafune is very enthusiastic about this project. And that new development style that he said he would go into more detail about later, I’m sure you won't be disappointed by that. We think not only fans of the series, but anyone interested in Mega Man Legends will be like, “What? ...OMG!!!”

When I and the rest of the staff first heard that were that we were doing this, we were shaking in our boots. All of us were asking our bosses, “Are you guys serious?”

But the proposition was interesting to say the least. So, now here we are making intense preparations and trying to stay on schedule.

...Having said that, there are so many details about the project that I am dying to tell all of you... but you'll have to wait and let your imaginations run wild for just a little longer, until the Comic Con in New York next month!

Until then, I'll use this blog to introduce to members of my team, and tell you a little about what's going on here in the Dev Lab. I'll do my best to update it at least once a week, so check back often!

I'm also looking forward to hearing comments from all of you!

Damnit, I guess that means I'll have to plunk down $300 for the 3DS.

*Stares in disbelief*

*Reads the opening post again*

*Takes a step back*

OH MY GOD!!!!! FUCKING YES!!!! This is one of many video game sequels that I've been waiting for years for! Hopefully for the Japanese version if there's voice acting regardless how small, they get all the original Seiyuus back together and hopefully they all can still do a good job.

Ooooo I can't wait until we see more details for this, and I will gladly buy a Nintendo 3DS for this. ^_^

.....However I'm slightly disappointed that this won't be a console game....A next gen Mega Man legends game on a console would have been bad ass....

Ok now that's epic news right there . Of course I kind of forget what happened during the first few games so that might be a problem.

Either way certainly makes the 3DS a must buy.

Wait a second...isn't the Megaman Legends series a 3D third person shooter/adventure game?

Because I only know of the first one....and didn't know of a second.

Megaman Legends is a 3D (3D as in Final Fantasy series, as opposed to the old standard 2D siderolling Megaman games) action/RPG game. (hence the comparison to FF) You run around doing quests and treasure hunting for items for new weapons during the main story, so it's a pretty strong break from the traditional Megaman games, which is what made it popular.

And yes, there were two MM Legends games, not just one.

Yes, and a spinoff (Misadventures of Tron Bonne).

GOOD NEWS: Megaman Legend 3 : Project will annouced in New York Comic-Con

2ch channel found something very interesting information:

* Volnutt, Roll Casket & Tron Bonne will return in series and introducing new character but the new character is seem like "villain" but mostly "anti-hero" in MML3.

* The gameplay is same as MML & MML2 gameplay. Introduce new system gameplay but it never shown it's name in whole public, the system is like Dead Rising 2 but not by engine; where player can combine their weapon into hyper weapon.

* The setting story is after MML2 sequel, the enemy is not same as MML 1&2 does. Some enemy called "Gordonmass" arcoding to 2ch channel. It is unknown if true or not but 2ch channel claim by it's name.

* The rumor say Capcom will answer why MML3 on Nintendo 3DS, is because the project work might due "experiment" like first Dead Rising, then Dead Rising 2 is finally ported into PS3. Probably MML3 will come PS3 & Xbox 360 if the fan request in Capcom Unity.

* Another rumor is MML1 & MML2 will finally ported into PS3 & Xbox 360 in their purchased item. Miss Tron Bonne Adventures is unknown coming to Ps3 & Xbox 360 but due the contract license.

I am so HYPE when i hear this rumor, i hope it's true 100%

Those rumors are made of so much f-in' win.

Even though I want a 3DS anyway, I really hope it gets ported to the PS3/360.

Just to accompany mentions of PS3 and Xbox 360 ports, I wouldn't mind some Wii ports.

What's this attitude of treating portable consoles as lesser platforms? It seems to be common for English speakers to have, yet the Japanese don't care.

Would be nice if the rumours about the first two games getting ported to the PS3/360 turned out to be true. Could go and replay and refresh myself on all the parts of the story.

Never played Misadventures of Tron Bonne. Always wanted to but IT'S SO HARD TO FIND and when you do it costs more than it should.

Capcom is letting us decide the heroine for the upcoming Legends 3!

Nakayama's loli has the most interesting design, so I'm going to end up voting for her. The characters by designed Kaji, Suetsugu, and Komaki characters are all really good as well though.
