Yoshitsugu Matsuoka has added yet another Harem to his repertoire apparently, although he's gone back to a fantasy Harem instead of a school romcom one, so at least he's offering up some variety .

The Opening and Ending do a solid job of showing off the girls, the action, and the reincarnation angle...although I wonder what's up with Rio's hair ?

So are we to assume that everyone who died on that bus thanks to train-senpai will be reincarnated like Haruto was? It seems like those two girls, the little one who seemed to be admiring him, definitely did. Although we only saw those two .

When you make a childhood marriage promise with your precious childhood friend and she seems to have forgotten about you and moved on when you reunite in high school...and Haruto seemed kind of bummed as an adult, so I'm guessing he and Mii-chan never got together or he never got a clue, if there was one, that Mii-chan was still pining for him .

So they're going with the Isekai staple that the reincarnation eventually rediscovers their past memories, although here it leads to some identity issues as to whether he's "Rio" or "Haruto" as he tries to make sense of his memories. I guess the Haruto part of him is what makes him smarter and more combat proficient than he would normally be at that age as Rio, especially since it seemed like he's gotten some good kendo and hand-to-hand training in his past life .

It seems like Mii-chan reincarnated that pink-haired spirit girl who called Rio "Haruto," and the Ending definitely leans into that idea, although Celia seems like the Main Heroine so I'm kind of wondering what the relationship dynamics in this show are going to be like .

When you try to commit a simple assassination and then get throttled by a kid...and then your boss does the magical equivalent of a cyanide pill on you. It was just not that guys day .

Rio saves the princess and ends up getting slapped, apprehended, and tortured for it. No good deed goes unpunished, huh? Although Vanessa and Celia were fully expecting he'd just be normally questioned, and Flora was knocked out, so they had no way of knowing that the knights would torture him out of spite because they couldn't keep Flora safe. I don't trust them if Rio ends up sticking around the castle .

Christina seems like she's going to be a tsundere. Like, she totally has that vibe of immediately disliking Rio only for her opinion to turn around on him as she gets to know him. Of course Flora already likes him .

Judging by that end teaser...Celia looks like she's going to be really dedicated to Rio .

Decent first episode. Nothing world shattering but it's not Reincarnated with cellphone either. If nothing goes wrong I think I will be able keep until end of anime at least. Unfortunately it doesn't seems I can expect lot from heroines. Neither princes seem to have even shred of potential to become interesting character in future.

Anyway I can believe they went for Star Wars meme in post credit

Slightly above average first episode of an isekai. It has an interesting approach with the whole "reincarnating your soul into another already living person's body" thing going on, rather than just "lol you're in this world now", which is a nice touch. Especially since Rio is confused by the new memories.

Could wind up good, or could go to hell, we'll see.

I know that Ayase was betrothed to Haruto before the train accident and that Rio is Haruto's reincarnation. However, which girl is the female protagonist and which girl does the WN hint at being Rio's true love?

Who is Ayase and why are you asking for spoilers in the anime thread?

He means Ayase Miharu. They aren't betrothed or something, just a childhood promise. There is no female protagonist and the series is based on Light Novel, not Web Novel (it is removed from Syosetu anyway). If you want spoilers you can go read LN thread of the series.

actually he was "reborn" in this world, his soul not was transfered to someone else his memories which where just "sealed" and he just got then back on that time.

Another "generic isekai harem, where's the mc "promise to love and marry a single for all his life but end with a big harem for "no reason than the rule of "cool" of the loners which need a mc surrounded for each generic harem girl possible "because "yes" and all the generic possible isekai harem overpowered mc we can get, this is not terrible as smart phone but it's don't means which it's "better" or passable.

I'm kind of curious who the Main Heroine is because Celia seems pretty prominent but then there's that promise with Mii-chan and probably unresolved feelings there...although if she's a spirit now, they might not be able to do anything .

Well, for a given definition of "breeze" but I remember in 8th Son where the protagonist was reincarnated into nobility but they were so far down the chain that they barely even counted as nobility and he had to start from scratch with his abilities.

And then there was Arifureta where after getting Isekai'ed Hajime got thrown into battle and his life immediately went downhill.

Not "reborn". Rather, it was the soul exchange. When he lives his life as a son of the lower rank noble, he gains the super magical potential. Girls are in love with him. The original Hachiotoko was transfered to Japan and become a successful businessman.

Another anime counted as soul transfer is Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan o Erande Iraremasen, which means Booklover cannot become a librarian. The story is a book lover who was killed by a fire, but her soul is transferred to a girl, who just passed away due to the illness.
