Lucky SnS flashback is limited within a chapter or so. Bleach used several chapters for certain characters who would later be ignored or forgotten from the plot.

Wonder if Ishiiki will be going Aizen-style at the final part of this regiment.

But man....the latest book wrote the heights of the elite 10(the members of elite 10 when they first appeared in front of freshmen). Never thought Kuga would be so short....

Just saw the latest episode of the anime and there was an info mentioned during a scene that took place during Ch 149, but it wasn't in the manga. It was mentioned by Hisako that Erina was only 10th seat because of her restraint and her true strength would have put her at higher seat.

So Erina is like Isshiki that her true strength should be above the 2nd year Elite Ten, and this was even before the 1 month training. But she was placed 10th seat by Senzaemon's administration so I wonder why they put a restraint on her.

^^ Hmm, I dunno about everyone but, unless its in the main manga chapters, which I don't think it's ever mentioned, it wouldn't be canon. So it's like just an interpretation.

Although on the other hand, I guess maybe the author specifically wanted something like that included in the anime...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah I won't put too much stock in anything mentioned in the anime that's not in the manga. You know how animators are when it comes to fillers. Besides it just sounds to me like Hisako is trying to boasts of her boss' strength. Much like how henchmen are glorifying their leader's strength. They tend to put their leader in a pedestral and believe they are stronger than they actually are.

I thought it was pretty obvious that Erina is higher than No.10 seat? I mean Eizan exists.

I thought it was obvious Erina's true abilities would place her above the 10th seat too. And not just because of Eizan. I'd place her above Nene and Kuga as well. I expect the manga will explain the reasons why she didn't move up.

Yeah fair enough, she is most likely stronger, it's just that the story hasn't explained why she's still the 10th. Is it her own choice or is there like some restriction etc

Also, honestly why don't stories ever use "show don't tell". Like would it have been that difficult for the author to show something like Idk, Erina stomping Hayama to show her skills.

I'm telling you I remember it was said somewhere that it's because she's a first-year. The second- and third-years didn't like a first-year being ranked higher than them (although Tsukasa and Rindou are still better than her, probably). The question is if it's the only reason or if there are others as well.
