i still continue to believe that ymir is from within the walls. Maybe she managed to escape after the first gate was broken and managed to eat B,R comrade when they were tired/were in front of other people and couldn't transform to save their friend since they were in disguise.

The hell within the walls she mentioned and the long years she spent in titan form without remembering anything . What the normal titans may be looking for are not humans but the titan shifters so that they can return to be "human" and that is why they eat them.Probably it is all a plan to kill all the titan shifter outside the walls(including themselves after they return "human" and then use the "cordinate" to have all the normal titans left be trapped in walls/killed. That would explain why the real bad ones are the ones inside the walls.

No get me wrong, I know what you mean and I'm already ready to see all of them end up dead.

Is just that I'm not sure that Eren will be the one to trigger all that mess or if those Titan in the wall are enough to wipe out all the humanity.

Also I remind you that we still have the Ape Titan that can controll the Titan like Eren and as far we know he may be the one to free the Titan in the wall(somehow).

But in all honestly I'm more curios to see Eren development in the next ch, after all this is something that started in this ch.

Thoughts on the last chapter

Power up!

Now if Eren can truly master that kind of power he would seriously become the strongest weapon that humanity ever had against the titans.
I wonder why Reiner thinks that Eren is the worst possible person to have that power, the only thing that I think of is that Eren wants to kill every single titan, and now he actually has the power to achieve that goal. Perhaps Reiner's objective is to save titans by reverting them to humans just like some of them did naturally.

If titans are humans that can be cured, Eren could potentially become one hell of a mass murderer.

So Hannes in the end was really fated to die. He shouldn't have thrown all those death flags.

Also against my predictions it seems that Historia will make it back with everyone else, perhaps it's finally come the time to learn something about this whole situation?
And neither Reiner and Berthold died in the commotion, which means that in the end only a single person from the main cast of the 104th training squad died so far.

That would make for a very tragic development but it is hinted several times (one in this very chapter) that the titans inside the wall or some other catastrophe are bound to cause the destruction of the walls anyway.

Perhaps it will happen as you say only to give Eren the impression that if he didn't exist nobody would have died, but I believe it is bound to happen anyway.

MIKASA SMILED! SHE SMILED!! Definitely the highlight of the chapter.

As we predicted, Hannes died, and rather unceremoniously at that. He was defeated off-screen. RIP old man.

I always figured Eren would get a unique titan power, but I never thought it would be control over other titans. It's a pretty overpowered ability assuming there's no limit to the number of titans he can control, but anything less wouldn't do. He wants to exterminate the titans after all, he needs a power at least as hax as this one in order to be able to do that. Now he can finally make his dream a reality.

I assume there used to a titan shifter with the same powers as Eren 100 years ago and that's how humanity was able to survive the onslaught.

is eren the only one with this power or does someone in the royal family have it too. And yay finally mikasa is human.... But if they do an anime adaptation wouldn't her not being able to help Haines be weird, after all she only suffered bruised rib? (In the anime she fell down and rolled on the ground for 10 feet and was still able to get up. I just love thinking about the good filler that going to added yay. And how was Haines defeated?

he was defeated off screen. we don't see much. As for Mikasa Eren tells her to not force herself and asks her to cut the ropes. He tries to go in giant mode but cant (hand is injured and there are minimum two bite marks). Mikasa tells Eren to leave it to her but then Eren goes overpower

If you account Ymir's case, then you may say that Eren could turn out to be the mass murderer in the eyes of R&B in a way that R&B thinks that Eren had no clear idea of what is he really doing and how is he going to do with his newly-found power for something even more fruitful if it's possible to cure mindless titans back to normal humans again. Oh well, I guess it's up to someone else to convince him, stop him & think about it first. And yes, the key. He got to get to the basement to uncover the dark secret within. Hopefully he isn't abandoning his primary objective.

Well, as I thought, Hannes raised the death flag from the place. RIP, Hannes. You're a good man.

(But yay she human, so eren saving time) and it was sweet where eren carry her this time.

Speaking of Eren's newly-found power, I think there will be more reasons for R&B to kidnap Eren from The Wall, as they concern that he would make things even worse to jeopardy with that power if he himself has fallen to the hands of The Wall cultists as if they have 'plans' for him.

Remember Ymir isn't the most eloquent speaker in her Titan form with it being hard for her to pronounce words. She could have been trying to say "go on now" but it came out as "Goen'a"

There's a major difference between:

There was no "Goen'a" or anything like it in the version I translated from.

Also, the translation available now is frankly not all that great. Spelling errors and awkward lines here and there. But it may be more direct since it was translated from Japanese and not Chinese like mine is.

It says "Guo En Ya". I wonder if I missed it in my first pass (the Chinese version I saw is no longer there) or if the version I have simply didn't have it.
