My gut feeling here (no proof one way or another) is that his assistants are handling the mecha (and probably backgrounds). I also get the feeling that they're merely taking pictures of Yamato Valkyries and Revoltech Battlepods and tracing over them. For example, the Macross itself looks quite different from the Macross in the movie, but almost exactly like the toy that came out a few years ago.

That's sad to hear, really. Still it doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the series, though it's a bit of a sloppy way to go about it.

Hmm...I know you're joking, but really...while Shaloom had his failings, trying to make a buck off of scanlations wasn't one of them.

I fact, I remember the scanlation guy "advertising" on Macross Generation, and Shaloom came down pretty hard on him for collecting money for it.

Anyway, translating the entire magazine would be an EXTREMELY ambitious project. There are quite a lot of pages of wall-to-wall text, and a lot of it isn't even terribly informative (the worst was summer 2009, issue 2, where they had big interviews with Megumi and Aya over what they THOUGHT the title "The False Diva" meant, since the two of them hadn't read the script yet, and no idea what would happen in the movie). So, um, kudos to anyone who wants to try.
