The illustrations make this look remarkably similar to Ayase’s route in the PSP game.....
The last illustration looks like she confesses her feelings, also just like in the game route. This isn’t the same illustrator as the main novel storyline, right? There are some illustrations where it looks the same, and others where it doesn’t. And the preview lines for the next volume make it sound a lot like Ayase’s route from the second PSP game. Geez. Just a 2020 release date for now. And it looks like it will just be a two-part story and not three. (the kanji used for part 1 could indicate either two or three parts, but the kanji used for volume 2 indicates the final volume)

I had the same question when I saw the cover, that was the only one that was a bit off but after looking at the illustrations inside the light novel you can clearly see it's the art of Hiro Kanazi , same illustrator as the former light novels of Oreimo.

I'm just glad we got "what if" routes for this series. All I can remember about the original ending is how salty it made me... That day, I may have produced enough salt to change a fresh water lake into a salt water lake.
We got trolled so hard back then. Most of us didn't think that the author actually had the guts to follow through on the incest route and we instead expected either Ayase (proud member of the Ayase Army here) or Ruri to win. Lo and behold, he actually fucking did it! I still get flashbacks...

So it turned out to be a novelization of Ayase’s route in the game as I thought, for the most part. Not bad, but not very original. I’d rather we have gotten new material instead of rehashed material from a different format.
At least we got illustrations of Wedding Dress Ayase.
