Well folks:

ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!

The Matsumoto division is at full steam, now that projects are properly staffed. As a result, we have some good news for you! We are in final preparations to release a long awaited Matsumoto series:

Captain Harlock: Arcadia of My Youth: Endless Road SSX (TV)

This series takes place right after the movie Arcadia of My Youth. This movie is licensed and available on DVD so I suggest checking it out. Please don't confuse this with the original 1978 Harlock series. The characters may look the same, but they (as well as the story) are in a different timeline. Trying to establish continuity between the shows will only result in one's own desire to commit suicide.

We have the first 4 episodes translated by Corn Pone Flicks. The remaining episodes will be done by our very own infamous Masakari-sama!

The first episode is due in the next few weeks. For now, the raw source will be high quality Laser Disc rips. We hope you enjoy this exciting new show!

hi ther,i am a new member in this forum and after a long time decided to start watching the captain harlock series again,so i downloaded the first 5 episodes special edition from live-evil. but there is a problem. the encoding is .mkv and although i have picture and soundi have no subtitles. can anybody tell me what i do wrong, what codecs i need or what player i should open them with??

Hi there,

We do all our testing on Media Player Classic with the Haali media spliter. The easiest thing to do it install the CCCP pack. Should fix everything right up for you.

I only recommend using MPC or the CORE player. VLC and MPlayer, for instance don't give you the option of formatted sub tracks.

The Arcadia is on its way back to Earth and has to pass by Mime’s home planet. Curious to see what has become of her homeland after the disaster, Mime persuades Harlock to investigate. Mime puts another issue in her past to rest.

Powderworks Records will be releasing late Jan / early Feb the original 1980s english main title music to "Captain Future - They Call Him Captain Future" and "Captain Harlock - Take To The Sky". These have been remastered of the original studio stereo tapes that were recorded for the label by Bullets.

Bullets were responsible for supplying the main title music as well as the background music to both series.

Both tracks are part of a mini EP release titled "Captain Future and Other Anime Themes" - Bullets. The release is worldwide through most online digital music retailers.

Hey all.
I am checking out Cornpone Flicks' fansubs of this title. The resolution isn't so hot, as it is VHS rip; I am wondering more about the Live-Evil versions... it doesn't say what format they are on the initial episode batches. Just wondering what the source is, and if they are all the same file format? Not really nit-picking, just wanting a little more info if you please (I noticed that some of the guys from Live-Evil are posting...I would love to hear more from you in particular).

This series looks awesome, pity that I've not had the chance to view it sooner!
Props to you more tehnologically oriented folks for making it happen!

Hi there,

A few people have reported a flashing black box when playing episode 22. This appears to be caused by older software. Please try updating to the latest CCCP release to correct it. (http://www.cccp-project.net)

As always, we recommend using Media Player Classic or CORE Media Player for viewing the Harlock MKVs.
