Split-cour! I hope that means production is smooth .

I have reasonable expectations for how much they're going to adapt, especially given some dialogue in the trailer, but I hope the adaption is able to do the story justice .

I think potentially they could do volume 1 for one-cour and then 2-3 for the second, but while I know volume 1 is fairly long by Light Novel standards, I'm not sure if they have enough for 12 episodes. I could be wrong.

Granted, the PV also has lines that I recall from later in the novel so either they've recorded everything by now or it will come sooner rather than later in the anime.

The Fate franchise (with Shirou, Saber, etc.) this particular route is already at the end, right? Perhaps Aniplex wants a new success. Although with Kimetsu no Yaba they will not need money for a while.

I'm skeptical about spending the whole first cour on volume 1. From what I remember, while it is long, I doubt it has enough to fill out 12-13 episodes. Considering the structure of the LNs (and possible cliffhanger points for them to keep interest up for the 2nd cour) it would make sense to animate volumes 1-2 in the first cour and 3-4 in the second.

I could see them adapting volume 1 in 6 episodes, and volume 2 has a good cliffhanger ending, but volume 3 is a much better end-point compared to volume 4 which is why I'm assuming they might try to fit it into a single cour.

It's been a while since I read volume 1 but a very good start that captured the atmosphere excellently. Faithful to the LN and pacing and direction were on point.
