Gen'ei o Kakeru Taiyo -Il sole penetra le illusioni-
Aniplex's newest anime project that was formelly announced last week.
http://www.geneitaiyo.com/ Cast announced : Mai Kadowaki, Eri Kitamura, Sora Tokui, Yuiko Tatsumi This looks awesome and the PV as well, and the music makes me already tell it's gonna be my favorite composer named Tatsuya Katou who will do the music. Still, I need to see more info around March 30.

I have no real idea what I'm looking at, other than some sort of vaguely Alice in Wonderland-ish magical girl show. (Which, I now realize, could apply to a lot of magical girl shows.)
That combination of words is all I need to keep a tentative eye on this. |

I personally liked Symphogear thanks to the great concept, even though the story writting and characters are subpar. Still, I will look forward to any new magical girl as long as it shares some Madoka Magica traits and this one looks very promising and once it starts, it'll stay that way.
PS : Before seeing this announcement, I saw some characters that looks like these and appeared in a cancelled project from last year called Gekkou no Messiah -Blood of Fortune- and it looks like it might be it.

Really interesting concept of Symphogear was ruined by the bad script. They could make good sci-fi macho-shounen story like Nanoha if they'd leave the dark tones in the story but they turned it in the generic shounen in the end

I really don't like the art style of this anime, with all the lanky monkey bodies. It's jarring and un-moe. |

watching the pv it reminds me of nippon ichi games that I played. The card show with a bit bizarre setting might reminds the others of madoka but I didn't get that impression on it. It reminds me of a typical mahou shoujo setting but has dark undertones which was madoka is known for but really. Saying that its just riding the fame of madoka isn't really nice since we are having mahou shoujo shows that had dark undertones since years 90's

that's true. Since mahou shoujo type of shows tends to be for kids. But saying that a show that has dark undertones with a mahou shoujo theme is like a copy of madoka is being unfair to the creators of that show. It just happen that Madoka turned famous. If it didn't, then it wouldn't be used as a measuring stick.

Next Madoka wannabe. Character designs and art look awful. Also, the voice acting sounds like nails on a chalk board. All we need is an uninspired team at A-1 propped up by Aniplex here and we will get a good trainwreck in action.
