Sunrise was a mess back than, look @ the level of animation they put out around that time after the Bones split, would you call it Cowboy Bebop quality? They have so many studios pumping out hits these days (which easily outsell every Bones show made not called FMA) they don't need Bones ever again.

Regardless as you say this won't happen, as you mentioned the obvious choice is Darker than Black 3.

With new versions of Jojo's bizare adventure and Sailor Moon announced I was wondering if bones was working on one of those.

Eureka 7 Ao confirmed for the worst anime sequel (assuming the first series is good) I have ever seen. BONES hit a new low here.

Yet somehow Zetsuen no Tempest this season has been pretty good. Thankful, because I was just about done with this studio for good after their efforts lately.

Yeah, they've had really low output the last few years but especially last year.

Any news regarding about their newest anime original project in the works? Did they announce anything about the staff as well (shown in public or not)?

I'm pretty excited for Bones' upcoming projects.

Here's what we'll get for sure:
- April: Kekkai Sensen S2
- April: Hero Academia S2
- Bungo Stray Dogs OVA (08/2017) and movie (TBA)

What's also been announced (in an ANN interview last year):
- Bones is working on three (!) original anime projects
^that's actually what exites me the most!

Here are some rumors (reference):
- Summer: original anime project directed by Rie Matsumoto
- original TV anime called Star Girls
- Eureka Seven film project

I also think it's safe to assume that Mob Psycho 100 will probably get a second season.

Obviously, that Matsumoto Rie thing is the huge rumor I've been grinding on. I'm skeptical, as there were earlier reports that her next project was going to be theatrical. But TV anime needs all the talents like Tachikawa and Matsumoto that it can get.

Speaking of Tachikawa, it's not impossible that when the MP2 season comes, he might not be attached for the some of the same reasons Matsumoto isn't with Kekkai Sensen. I think his heart is with stuff he creates himself (and in fact, there are also rumors he's developing an original for Bones or Madhouse).
