I really hate those authors who go with otp route yet still bait readers with harem route. Goddamn it author, stick to Emilia if she is your favorite girl, stop torturing claire and her fans.

As much as this sucks, the series isn't over yet, so there is always hope. Maybe it's wrong to think that way (especially remembering all those fails in the past) , but I really believe that we'll get a satisfying conclusion.
Please don't let all this teasing be in vain.

Emilia was a real bitch this time around.
After she runs into Hayato and co she makes up some excuse about needing to kiss him (in front of Claire) to make sure he's real. Asserting her dominance and lead.

Hayato is at fault too for not stopping her either since the very beginning (when the relationship was clearly one-sided). Well, the author is at fault for making these kind of characters to begin with.
IDK if they have formally engaged or announced they are dating or whatever, but Emilia doing that clearly notes her childish behavior just because of being jealous, and getting in the way. You can see that in the previous volumes, if you have the chance to read volume 9, you'll see a specific part of a chapter and note how twisted she is.

^If that is the case then I guess I should abandon all hopes for Hayato to make both Emilia and Claire his girlfriends. Emilia being this hostile and aggressive usually means that the main heroine will win in the end. I'd rather keep my expectation low and be surprised.

as things are, this might have an open ending and that would be so disappointing...
Or, once the "last boss" is defeated, some time will pass and then the lives of everybody will be shown and that will mostly leave Hayato paired with Emilia. I can predict it.

I totally agree. I really liked her when i watched the anime, but once I started to read the novel and the spoilers in this forum, my respect towards her went downhill.

when my source of info on her is outright calling her a bitch for how petty she's being towards her competition(the basis for my comparison to houki, not her being abusive to hayato), i'm going to stick by said comparison

@thread i've said this countless times before, an author should never tease a harem he has no intention of going full harem. its a waste of page time that could of been spent on plot or fleshing out the otp, as well as an excuse to not make any actual romantic progress till the end. an otp end is not bad in itself, but one spawned from a false harem always ends up feeling cheap

True dat. I'm lenient on SoL harems, since it's hard to make a true harem end in a realistic setting. But if it's fantasy/sci-fi, then there's no excuse. Either go OTP from the start or end it with a true harem. Otherwise it's just nose-pulling and a cheap tactic to keep people buying the series.
