Heh so is vivid trying to show the diverse generation 3 mage culture? Trying to soften the uniqueness of the original cast?

She will definitely become a second Nanoha Takamachi.... with versatility....

Befriending option:
1) Point blank Divine Buster
2) Beating to near death (until the victim listens)
3) Starlight Breaker Reinforce style [punching it] (but then I never saw her use Starlight Breaker....)

That's a good enough answer for me.

And yeah, I guess Vivid is kinda going the 'melting pot' route. Or at least it has lots of stuff from earth.

Still, you guys raise a point. I look at this tournament and think 'If 9 year old Nanoha or Fate were in it, they'd win with ease', but that's not really fair, is it...
... If I recall correctly Signum Mk. II has a name... Mikiya? Mikaya?

In any case, FIGHT Miura, cause she's up against an Elite Athlete.

Sucks to be her, hopefully Signum will be able to teach her something awesome to help out in her fight.

Well, hope she taught her something before this, 'cause the fight's starting now.

Although I imagine Signum knows how to defend against an opponent with a sword. Some kind of blade blocking move?

Oh god... I hope they won't do the Barehanded Blade Block again.

I was hoping that Miura is going to do a iai-do like move with a sword but it looks like she's barehanded...

So I guess she's going to time the strike of the sword to side step it and then counter attack with a punch.

It's possible, she looks pretty quick on her feet but if she does something weird like a barehanded blade catch, I'm going to repeat my mantra "MAGIC MAGIC MAGIC" over and over again rather than mentally imagine blood everywhere from getting the palms of her hands sliced off.

I also expect Miura to do an awesome debut fight in the manga, if we get her image fighting Vivio as a prohecy she will win his match(well, that depend if this round is a direct eliminatory or not). Signum Mk. II looks strong but fortunately is a new character without hints of an invincibility complex yet, so seeing her being trashed woldn't break my heart.

In all fairness, Signum lacks finesse to do smaller task so if she attempts o do tha the bus will probably explode into nothingness xDU.

Finally watched ViVid 23 complete(albeit in chinese xDU). It it follows apparently the beginning of the second stage of the tournament, and it's centered around Miura and the introduction of her opponent Signum Mk. II(aka. Bus Slayer Kendo-girl).

Spoiler for Synopsis:

It's showtime, GO MIURA! xD

1) Miura gets the shit beaten out of her.
2) Sob stories as Miura recounts why she must win.
3) ????
4) Victory.

At least, that's what I'm thinking will happen.

Cheers.

Very probably, they're already introduced Signum Mk. II as a very strong adversary(if memory serves me right she was the girl who give Einhart a run for her money during a practice settled by Nove right?).

In fact, it's a posibility that most of the fights develope in a similar way as almost all the new contenders are introduced as very strong fighters with previous historial like Harii, Victoria and the Champion, or beginners with very good potential like Miura and Shante.

Miura's got reason to be worried. While "Team Nakajima" got through their initial stages with knockouts (TKO in Corona's case) Miura scrapped by on points.

The positive way to look at it is that Miura took on opponents in her initial stages that were "better" than the others.

As in, Vivio beats A, B beats A, Miura beats B.

Maybe, that is.

Natch.

What matters to Miura is, she faced opponents who were as good or better than herself. Although she managed to avoid getting knocked out, she was unable to overpower them either. And now she faces a veteran contestant with a multi-year history in the tournament. It's no surprise she's worried.

Looking forward to seeing more of this. Surprised I didn't post in here, but yeah, this is definitely a manga series I wish was translated more frequently, or at least had chapters out more often. I can't wait to see all the fun and interesting things they introduce.

Also, the... mysterious hooded girl looks... well, vastly different from I expected. Found something online that showed her off, seems odd compared to her initial appearance.

Yup at first i thinked "wow she looks a lot like Nove" in fact, one of the wacky theories that arise into my head was the Nove IS the misterious Hooded girl, entering the tournament as a disguised fighter to prevent the girls from becomming overconfident of their abilities, similar to Master Roshi when he disguise himself as Jackie Chun and enters the Tenkaichi Budokai tournament in Dragon Ball xD.

Nah, never got that impression. She just looks... vastly more cutesy than her first impression implied. Also surprised she got revealed this fast, but I suppose they wanted to establish her as more of a person, less an obstacle, which is good. I hope she's a good fighter, and her magic style is new and all that. Hard to take her seriously just now, but seeing her in action would help.
