In Adobe create a new layer above all others and make a border on that. Then make it visble on all frames In Ulead create a new object and paint the border on that and copy that to all other frames. More programs I don't know. |

Hmm, yes I have trouble with borders aswell, maybe if an experienced gif maker could give full step by step details of how its done.
Someone acually did it for making the gifs some time ago, it was very helpfull, but it diden't include borders.

I'm not sure how it's done in Ulead as I don't have it, but what I did for Adobe ImageReady is I used the Record option, under the Actions Tab (it's next to History and Layers) to make it easier to do borders. Here's how it goes:
1. Choose the GIF you want to make a border around, go into the Actions Tab and click Create New Action. Name it whatever you want. Choose a function key if you want to, I chose F6. Click the Record Button. 2. Go to Select->All (or just press Ctrl+A) 3. Then go to Edit->Stroke. Chose the size of the border you want, the color, and make sure the Inside button is checked. Click ok. 4. In the Actions Tab, click the Stop button to stop recording. Now you have the Action recorded so the next time you want to make a border just hit the Function key you chose, F1, F6, whatever. You'll have to do this to each layer to make the whole GIF have a border. Or you could do what Palani said which is probably a whole lot easier. |

Making Borders in Ulead
I know no one asked, but since ImageReady s on this page I may as well have the Ulead Method for making borders.
Step 1. Create a new frame. Step 2. Select New Blank Object under the Object menu. (keyboard shortcut = Ctrl+Alt+D) Step 3. Select the blank object and click activate the paintbrush tool and set the Size to 1; Transparency to 0; Line to Straight Line . Make sure you have Allow painting on transparent areas checked. Step 4. Paint a line around from corner to corner. Step 5. Select a frame and make it visible Step 6. Right-click the frame with just the border in it and select Synchronize Objects Across Frames and under that check Visible. Step 7. Delete extra frame if you haven't already. I hope this helps someone. Last edited by Don Roberto; 2004-12-08 at 14:40. |

I have a few from the most recent episode, 89:
5:26 - 5:27 5:31 - 5:32 (in-between there somewhere, you'll see what I mean) 5:35 All of these are pretty nice pictures of the Rasengan Jiraiya is teaching Naruto. Also: Episode 72, 17:52 - 17:53 - a nice loop of the Death God and the 3 Sarutobi's. Btw, Don Robert, you're a terrific GIF maker, just to let you know |

First of all I think it's great that you guys choose to do this for everyone, and I was wondering if someone would take the time to make one for me. It's of Sasuke using chidori in the intro of any recient episodes, and it happends at around 2:35.
Also I would like to know how you guys extract the image out of the show. Do you simply try to take a screenshot of each frame or is there a simpler way? Thanks in advance. |
