Episode 1
Crap CGI animals aside, that was a pretty decent premiere. I wasn't blown away by it and there were more than a few forced contrivances in the set up but I like how "no nonsense" the main pair are... ...how old is the girl by the way? *Activates shipping-goggles*

Like Haak said CGI aside it was a decent premiere. Intriguing characters. Looking forward to the next episode.
I doubt it’s that easy to skin a person...particularly with such a lack of blood, but that may be because it’s freezing out— but I’m no expert so take it with a grain of salt. |

I actually burst out laughing when I saw the CG bear, since I mean what the hell is that?
Honestly, visually this episodes didn't look as good as I was hoping overall, but also from that it was nice. Sachi and Asripa are pretty well characterized despite how little we know about them. Asirpa is quite mature for her age plays off well with Sachi who strikes a good balance between being hard-boiled and decent enough person. So I'm in. |

I don't think anyone will argue that the CGI bear looked terrible and really clashed with everything else. Episode itself was a good start. Despite both being serious characters, Sachi and Asripa seem like they'll work well together.

yeah, CG was horrible, at least the episode had so many positive things that it overcame it, the battle between the Japanese and the Russians was one of them.
I do not accurately think that she fits the definition of loli, I mean, ainu people are not usually small? |

https://i.redd.it/gs5eft524xq01.jpg He also claims they're still working on trying to blend hand-drawn and 2D together. "...it's difficult to (hand-)draw fur like (in the manga), but pure...3D...will cause parts to not blend in with the surroundings...we're still trying to figure out how to fit it all". In a way, he DID succeed in making the bear stand out, just not the way he wanted! |
