Anti-Alias or not?
I was just wondering. For those who do their lines on Adobe Illustrator, is it better to Anti-alias when you import to Photoshop? I hear a lot how people do this, and then those who don't anti-alias. Is there a difference? I know when you Anti-alias the lines get smoother, but what is better overall? Anti-Alias or not?

Well the thing with A-A is that when you A-A a line on a white background it looks fine on the white background. But as soon as you fill it up with another color it looks crappy because the line has been A-A on a white background. I suggest it's best to A-A lines AFTER you filled the drawing with colors, but before coloring you better use plain cartled lines.

Thats true to an extent. I mean you can start the lines without the white background. Although when you want to fill it in, say , using masks, you select what you want, make a new layer, and create a mask, you still get a white outline alongside the lines when you fill it in. Although this can be corrected by expanding the selection by one pixel or so(select>modify>expand). I see what you are saying.
But which one offerrs better results? |
