The eating contest results were based on the 1988 Arima Kinen.

Also, Crunchyroll(?) somehow messed up the audio track for sound effects.

Watched episode 6:

This is now the best racing anime I've ever watched. Didn't expect Suzuka to be so much faster than them, I thought El Condor would be able to close the gap in end. Anyway, Suzuka was running scary fast. . I remember how the trainers talked about accidents earlier in the episode. Got nervous that Suzuka might slip or some thing.. glad that everything turned out ok,

Obviously looking forward to next week!!

Episode 7 is up.

Damn....

Poor Suzuka. I was rooting for her too until that injury happened. Felt really bad for her but I think she'll recover soon enough. However, I think it will probably take a good while for her to be 100% again. Really nice to see that she has so much support from her friends.

Hoping to see her race again before the season is over.

Damn that was painful to watch, even though I knew it was coming.

In any case, Suzuka's too damn fast. She's in a totally different level. I guess no even her body could keep up with her overwhelming speed.

Aw man, why am I tearing up. ;_;

Once her strap came undone, I knew something bad was gonna happen. But man, I still wasn't prepared. I know someone here mentioned that this was his last race, but I hope history changes for our extremely fast horse girl!!!! The new ED with everyone visiting Suzuka was also very sweet.

And the inevitable moment came. This was really well handled, but perhaps with a bit too much foreshadowing. They kept some nice details, like this race being on November 1st on a Sunday, just like when the real thing happened in 1998.

It’s already changed the original horse died as a result of this race and injury (put down) because recovery was deemed impossible. Now it remains to be seen whether this Silence Suzuka will recover or if her injury is permanent and she’ll never be able to race again.

Watched episode 7:

Silence Suzuka so fast. She would have owned them all if she did not get injured.

When El-chan walk past Suzuka without saying anything.. I sort of had a mixed feeling about her. But when I saw her sad winning the race.. I now have the opinion that El is just competitive, and not really a bad person.

Spe-chan save Suzuka from falling down. I like how Suzuka is still holding the goodluck charm after the ending song.

I have never been happier to see a deviation from actual events in a show than now.

Yes yes yes yes yes. I thought the blue aura was enough. But her little talk with Special Week at the end of the race was so good. she just shot up in rank for me

Well, Suzuka is important to her. It's just not the only thing that is important. Also, Grass Wonder was just jealous and wanted Special Week's attention.

Watched episode 8:

Spe-chan get another loss. Well, she lost focus.. so the loss was deserved. Good thing Suzuka is not getting annoyed with Spe being all over like that - they are even roommates so I'm sure Spe-chan must be all over her even off- screen. Gold Ship even had to point out that it's already annoying.

A little worried about Suzuka since she seems to be doing night practice. Hoping that her injury will heal and not get worse.
