From what Nagoshi said, there are things about Yagami's life that they decided not to show in order to focus more on work to capture the Mole. I think he meant his parents' death and his relationship with Mafuyu. Then again, the player can make Yagami date other girls rather than Mafuyu. As a result, I think there is material to bring more stuff for Yagami.

The thing about the plot that I found a bit rushed is how Kaito and the other yakuza are attacked by the Mole. They get their asses kicked but the Mole doesn't kill them. For a second I thought Sega was afraid of killing Kaito in the same way they backed off with Kiryu in both Yakuza 3 and 6 where the guy suffers horrible wounds but somehow makes it back.

They're going to release a remaster on PS5, Xbox Series and Stadia this April. I thought they had improved the character models when I saw the trailer, but then I watched a video comparing the "remaster" and the original side by side and there are barely any differences. Doesn't seem like buying it will be worth for it for those who already own the game, especially since retro compatibility on PS5 probably already provides the same improvements (60fps, faster loading times).

Well, the game's visual quality is low compared to other Yakuza titles on the PS4, and the loading times are atrocious, as I discovered when reloading upon some serious mahjong losses. Speaking of which, this may come off as a very weird thing to complain about, but I keep losing whenever I gamble, whether in the casino or the mahjong parlor, as if the game's rigged.

Whatever, the game has a very compelling story, fun things to do and serviceable combat. Got this for the PS4, currently on ch4.

Loading times were a pain for me in Yakuza 7 too. And they're a pain in Nier Replicant right now.

I can't wait to switch to next gen to finally be rid of loading times. I've seen comparisons between the PS4 and PS5 versions of Judgement and what takes a minute on PS4 takes 3 seconds on PS5.

Japanese title is "Judgment day". Can see why they couldn't use that.

Massive graphical improvements in that trailer. Everything looks amazing except... Saori's hair, which still seems like it's made of rock. Can't they make it look a bit more natural? Other heroines didn't that problem in Yakuza.

Anyway, I hope the dead body they find isn't Saori's. My money is on that prosecutor (girl)friend of Yagami whose name I totally forgot, which would explain his reaction better.

That was the same thing my mind immediately went towards after watching the trailer. She is conspicuously absent from it.

This is probably the game I'm looking forward to the most this year. The gameplay looks extremely fun, and it's the best looking game the studio has put out by far. You can easily tell the difference between Yakuza 7's Ijinchou and the one in the video above (though I haven't played the PS5 version of Y7, but I think the upgrades were just higher resolution/framerate and better loading times).

Oh cool, they bought back the dancing minigame I remember from Yakuza 5.

The dog part is also new. Same with the robot and that race. They also added skateboarding too! Hopefully they bring back the dice game too from Judgement as I enjoyed that. Can't wait for September!

I may be a bit late, but I just noticed there are several versions of the game being sold, with the priciest having extra story content. I really fucking hate when they do that. You shouldn't have to pay extra to get the full game.

There's some controversy that LJ may not have a PC port because of Johnny's being a bit stubborn.
