Hahaha... actually, I just assumed given the time of year, No's age, and that for an outcome to hinder further voting seemed a little extreme as I (at least) would try to make sure that the next year's results favored my preferences. Of course, you know what they say happens when you assume...

I have found it hard to vote over the previous 8 weeks (though I managed to pull it off) as I was away from a computer at which I could vote ~18 hours/day. Now that I have a more favorable schedule this and next week, I have been able to take my time... 8-5 is much better than 3(am)-7(pm)!

Looks like all the contenders for the necklace are facing characters that don't have a win at the moment except for Taiga (Lucky for her Nodoka won her last match so Taiga gets an advantage this time)

I wonder why I'm hearing Mikoto will be able to win a necklace when her opponent is Mihoko this time (what a difference between ISML and J-Saimoe when they last battled). I won't even comment on this match it's so one sided, but that doesn't help her chances at a necklace. Maybe she will have better luck with another necklace but maybe that will change later if she gets a stronger opponent.

I really want to see Kurimu shake her slump. Maybe she will get that chance against Ami

Only one match where 2 challengers have a shot at the top 16 will face each other. Yui and Illyasviel The others look one sided.

It seems hard to imagine Mikoto winning the necklace if one of her opponents is from Saki. Especially since she got Mihoko instead of the Boobs Monster.

I'm guessing the only way to guarantee Mikoto a necklace is to make sure she wins her matches, and hope that her former opponents do the same. Right now Nagi can help her out. Her other opponents remain a mystery.

Yea but for most of the top 7, they had a relatively good opponent in round 1. And those usually cancel each other out. So what I see in the next round, is that Yuki has a pretty good opponent compared to the rest. I can see Ui winning a few matches, given the K-ON!! hype. Taiga's also pretty damn lucky to face Nodoko, this period.

Since the Sunday matches are always 'good/tough' matches, it seems to fall on who you face during the other 'weaker' rounds. And Yuki has the best one in round 3. And since she faced Louise in R2, who won her first match, she could just build up an nice early SDO lead.

And woohoo we get the first Seitokai inter-series match with Mafuyu vs Chizuru. I kinda prefer Chizuru, but see Mafuyu winning.

Probably lucky that Ritsu and Tsumugi didn't get in with Yui, Mio, Asuza, and Ui...they've been getting attention in K-On!! lately. Though this week the attention was on Azusa and Ui.

I can only speculate what would of happened if Tomoyo and Azusa had their match during Amethyst rather than Topaz after the latest K-on episode. With a difference of only 14 votes, I can assume Azusa would of made up more than the 14 votes necessary to beat Tomoyo.

I don't know if Mio has reached Shana's level yet, but if there is an episode similar to Azusa for Mio before her matchup with either Mikoto or even Hina, I would be tempted to say she would have a chance.

Wasn't she somewhat 'naked' in the previous episode? Can't get more....potent than that, can it(reminded of Nadeko)? I think the K-ON group are somewhere near their peak now. I do think Mio will give Shana a run for her money. And she will most likely beat the rest.

Though I will say, depending on how the series goes, it'll be interesting to note the Mio vs Azusa match when it comes up.

Third time's the charm? Unless you know the schedule, it's impossible to say at this point if Misaka can win a necklace or not. Even if she looked good now, if she runs into Shana, it doesn't matter. Likewise, looking bad now doesn't mean Misaka can't draw a bunch of good opponents later.

Misaka's Amethyst 2 and Amethyst 3 opponents don't look too great she might draw really good opponents in Amethyst 4 to 7 to make up for it. Nagi wasn't too bad of an Amethyst 1 opponent either.

I don't think Mio is quite there yet. Mio needs to get stronger faster since she could face Shana as early as Amethyst 7. That would leave only one more K-On!! before their match.

[Last Sinner]

For some perspective on neckalce winners and strength of their opponents, Taiga won Topaz despite having 3 very weak opponents - Yami, Chiaki and Rika. But she also had 4 very strong ones (Kyou, Rin, Hitagi Nagisa) which boosted her SDO to the point of victory. You can afford a few weak matches if you do get a string of strong matches in the 5th-24th region.

And on that - the cream of the crop mainly drew weak opponents this coming round. I see three matches that stand out:

Tomoyo vs Nagisa - Another internal one between Clannad characters. Tomoyo should win but a decent margin would help.
Yui vs Ilya - Yui should win, but a match to boost her rank.
Fate vs C.C. - Maybe I'm dreaming, but I could see an upset here. A rare occasion where Fate won't get my vote.
