This might be lost in translation, but appearently the next episode title preview "Hero King, Gazel Dwargo" literally has "Eiyuu ou" in it, also known as "A-U-O" or "King of Heroes". I just took a little peek at the japanese #tensura tweets when the episode aired and I saw quite a few people making references to the Fate/ franchise's Gilgamesh there. Can't find them anymore though.

And with that it should also answer a question that some might have. The Hero (King) from the preview is refered to as an "Eiyuu", while the Hero from Veldora's 300-years-ago flashback was considered a "Yuusha".

BTW, the "Demon Lord" mentioned here is the good old "Maou". I am just warning you guys now. Be very careful towards ANYTHING that gets translated and results in a phrase that contains the word "Demon" or even "Magic" in it anywhere. This series can get very weird in regards to translations. Other than "Maou" there's also literally the word "Diimen Loodo", i.e. Demon Lord in English, but used as something completely different from "Maou". Of course the main issue is when "Mamono" (Monsters, like Slimes and Goblins) and "Akuma" (Devils, the kind that makes contracts and stuff) both get translated as "Demon". It gets even more absurd if the translator goes completely mad and starts translating "Oni" as "Demon" as well.

So yea, when you hear the word "Demon" I'd recommend to listen to the japanese a bit to understand which "kind" of "Demon" is being referenced at that moment.

LOL I just noticed that Crunchyroll changed the subtitle when Rimuru meet the elves from "Eros" to "E.I.L.F"

Well the number of members is lower than both GS and SAO by 60-70k
it could slowly grow tho as many people still didn't catch up to the hype yet due to "Isekai" tag

I dont expect this series to be top contender anyway.

To be honest tensura didnt offer anything new on isekai brand, but it does offer pretty much everything on isekai stereotype ranging from interesting mc, waifu, hot guys, action, comedy, op cast, and so on.

But i like it because... i dont know, i watch quite a lot of isekai series and i found this really enjoyable, like the first time i watch log horizon season 1, iamcompletely hook into it.

I could say that Tensura offered different isekai plot.. which is enjoyable
you are not focused only at Rimuru but also at all his companions

and his attitude and fluffiness.. how could anyone hate him? he's so cute

I felt little bit bad because I wanted them to move on the plot faster because I think we're on boring part
but for new viewers, this is a really good pacing... so I'll just stay put and try to enjoy the show by reminiscing all the events

I like until the hostess club all the elves Rimuru kept imagining where 90s ones with huge ears and massive shoulder pads (which honestly almost everyone rocked back then). It's clever way of remind you that thus still a middle aged dude.

I hear you and I agree. For me like I have said, Slime carrying on almost charm pure charm. Not just that but it doesn't feel like power fantasy for once, except during beginning where Satoru was just getting a string of powerups. It very well may become one of few isekai I like.

Record of Lodoss War is a classic which is being streamed on CR right now. You don't have to be a middle-aged dude to know that Deedlit is the best elf female around.

The MMO also was released in 2017.

I hope if this anime does devolve into a harem, it's Rimuru and Veldora and all of the other talking monsters he keeps encountering.
From a story-telling standpoint it's incredibly convenient that Rimuru can solve all of this city's problems with things he's acquired in the very first episode, but at the same time his personality makes it worth the while. v ‿ v
