I am pretty sure there were no legal age limitations back then, neither were it in Europe at that time. A girl was considered of marriageble age if she had menstruated, wich generally happened at 10-12 or so. As for parents consent, it was more like that was the only thing that mattered as the kids did what they were told.

Most girls were married by the age of sixteen.

All things considered, Genji was suppose to conquered a family member before any other women. So its back on track. Which means where are still in chapter one of the original Genji, so expect the manga to go for a very long time.

The loli isn't for say a lie, there could be more situations arising in the future. It doesn't have to be sexual intercourse (which would be bad in this case). Murasaki is suppose to be the girl who will connect Terumi to younger girls. Our Terumi likes older women, that is good, however for his role in Genji, he has to be comfortable with all women.

Most girls being married by 16 doesn't mean that none were married younger then that. For instance the average age of first marriage for girls in the village of Shimomoriya during 1726-1872 were 13.3 years old. I am pretty sure there were some 12 or younger then. Genji Monogatari takes place in 1100s and the age of marriage tends to go up during modern times rather then down.

We aren't even talking about history when it comes muslim countries as it would be unwise to suggest that it is immoral considering that their prophet consumated a marriage with a 9 year old girl...

But Europe actually had an age limit at that time, 12 years old for girls.
