Oh, I just thought of why Alicia didn't tell Akari why she chose her.
<going back in time wavy focus transition> Alicia: "Well, here's all of the resumes.... Jennifer, Maruko, Natalia, Kokone, Linda, Maki, Zhi-Hyun, Akari, Carol. They all seem pretty good, and two of them are beautiful immortal robot-people. Oh, well.... Akari it is, since her name begins with 'A'. " -k curious |

I finally got round to downloading it and watching it tonight (of all the times I don't check for more than a week, it was this past week and a bit) and Aria the OVA~Arietta was totally worth it.
Every second of it, the animation, the music, the story, everything was totally worth the wait. I loved it. I'd actually been wondering a while back why Alicia had picked Akari over any other possible candidates, and when the possibility of an answer came up I was like in anticipation. But leaving it a mystery suits me fine, I'm happy with that still, it's implied, as it always has been why Akari was picked for Aria company and it's a wonder to watch. It's nice to see the animation is looking more like the Animation again. I can't wait for the Origination now. Well, I lie. I can, but I can't at the same time Reading through this thread also reminded me of one reason why I love Aria so much. No matter how many times I watch through it, I don't get bored of watching it, I've watched through the animation and the natural so many times it's getting unreal now, but I still really enjoy each and every episode that I watch. It was no different for the OVA~Arietta. I have a feeling I'll be watching it a lot in the future. Last edited by Tabris; 2007-11-28 at 23:22. |

I have absolutely no guesses as to why Alicia chose Akari. I *do* know that it was left out most likely because it leaves a greater impact on fans rather than spoiling it...
That said, I sure hope we do eventually find out (maybe sometime during Origination?). |

It's a wonder that Woody hasn't been executed or exiled from Neo-Venecia yet.

Rightstuf / Nozomi Entertainment have announced the license for all of Aria, Aria the Animation, Aria the Natural, Aria the OVA ~Arietta~ and Aria the Origination.
Aria was produced by MFI, therefore we didn't list fansubs here on AnimeSuki. See Removal of Media Factory Inc. Works for details. Since it is licensed, the following posts are no longer allowed in this thread.
You still are allowed to discuss the anime, that has not changed but please remember to limit the discussion to the story. |

I just watched bits of ARIETTA again to do my blog (see sig) to scrutinise the Campanile scenes and I was completely gobsmacked at the level of accuracy that was portrayed. They simply got every detail of that tower correct. The geographical accuracy of the view drawn from the Campanile was also great. Instead of including plenty of generic Venetian buildings as per Animation/Natural, they really drew all the landmarks and got the shape of everything correct.
