I really dig the style they're going with. The character designer did a great job. The animation reminds me a bit of One Piece movie 6 style, which is great. Light pallet and thin lines. But what's very important in FMA for me is the story. I really hope they can come up with something good. Which is going to be tough. There's just so much you can put into a 1 1/2 - 2 hour movie. That's why I'm hoping it'll be some kind of side story. Like the cowboy bebop movie.

Laserz! XD
Werewolves! XD ... wut FMA? Oh please let one of the Wolfis be a Jacob. That would be enough to entertain me through the whole movie! Edward Elric pawns all other Edwards anyway. I made an "aww shame" seeing that it's not written by Arakawa, but oh well let's see. Best thing would be just a simple filler film to see my favorites kick some ass again. But seeing lasers ... and werewolves ... please no random gates to mythical town and future town please. I do like duckroll's thesis, though. |

Hm. Just saw the teaser.
It makes me wonder why they're releasing a side movie now instead of during it's air date. But I see they're pulling a Cowboy Bebop, it'd be cool if FMA is popular enough to sustain itself with several more side story movies. I don't mind as long as they focus the fighting on alchemy with the same creativity they had in the manga/series. Don't pull some random magic stuff like the Conqueror of Shambala. This werewolf...I hope is a chimera and not an actual werewolf. Anyway, I'm happy to see Square still support FMA since it is one of the larger franchises under their sleeves. Let's hope they bust out a true next-gen GOOD rpg game based on the FMA world . |

We now have a release date for the movie but no real summaries to speak of.

I love that the art style looks like it resembles Arakawa's art more closely. I'm sure it does.
Hawkeye, Roy and Ed all look a lot different in the trailer than how they look in the series. I'm all for any more FMA, hell I don't care if they keep bringing out stuff based on it as long as story is good and it's faithful the the world Arakawa created. |
