Okay, I'm back, and this is what I quoted from Nex:

Quote:
I hope this solution will work in your case. My friend, phillipWireland on the Nexus, came up with a solution for his bloated save files and had a discussion with Bethesda, who thanked him for the info.

"1. Determine which mods/ updates that the player has downgraded/ removed/ updated over (as most people just replace/ remove the ESP),

2. Find the Scripts, Meshes (and textures if wish but does not seem to be necessary) for those mods,

2A. finding the scripts and meshes for a particular mod is not too hard. Most mods will have them in a sub folder with the mod name (or abbreviation), and/ or the files themselves will have some type of prefix of that mod

FOR EXAMPLE: Levelers Tower by WilliamSea, will have his files in folders named "leveler", and all the files start with the prefix "leveler", LC Become King of Riverhelm by Locaster, has loose files but all are prefixed with "LC".

3. Search and delete all the old scripts and meshes. If in doubt on version diff, you can delete all from that mod and re-unzip just the version you are now using back into place.

4. (a) Close folders and start game, (b) make clean save preferably in small plain room, © Purge Cell Buffers (as a good measure), (d) hit escape to bring up save menu, (e) let game sit in this state. The engine will start clearing old data, oldest first.

5. After enough time for the game to clear ( For EX: If 40 MB over normal file size, then would be approx 40 min -where normal size is lets say 10MB and current is 50MB),

5A. make a save and check save file size, if need more time for the file to finish shrinking, repeat 4-5, if file back to normal size see 6.

6. Done. save game, continue play, and repeat when file size gets too large or starts creating same issues again.

It takes about a minute per megabyte of uninterrupted (real) time for clearing process.
The menu HAS to stay up (where write interaction is paused).

The first time may take a while. My "normal save-game is about 13-14 MB, my char is 74th LV and has a ton of stuff (approx 1600 hours playtime).
my save file had bloated to 132MB, so first time took a few hours.

The bug is triggered and stays triggered, so on occasion, this process has to be repeated, but it keeps the save-file back down to normal size."

---------

"In Skyrim, when the player un-installs a mod, drops down to a previous version, or upgrades from a version with files to a newer version with a .BSA;

Something in the engine can trigger a glitch that keeps an active copy of every animation/ interaction the character encounters.

(so each kill move animation, each sitting/ standing anim, each NPC having conversations or other inter actions in the character's cell, etc ALL get kept track of.

This produces an "artificial" memory leak. Artificial because it is not a true memory leak. The game knows what the information is and is keeping track of it.

So when the player saves, it all gets written to the save file. This does not clear it out, neither does reboot, or anything else at this stage.

So this continues on and the save file continues to grow until it interferes with the system/ application's ability to read the LAA function.

At that point when the memory to run the application and the memory being used to keep track of the bloated info approach approx 2GB, the game CTD.

The progression will continue even if the player is not doing anything with the character (IE just standing there)"

There's a limited edition coming out for Christmas for Europe, which includes no DLC just lots of fancy stuff (T-shirt, concept art etc).

Complete Edition probably after the 4th DLC.

Dragonborn is the 3rd installment of DLC coming out on the 4th of December for Xbox then a week later the PC version.

Finally got the images for my armor commissions completed and scanned. Image quality's not terribly great but I think you can get the basic idea of how it's supposed to look.

An Ebony/Dragon mix, actually. With elements of dragonscale and dragonplate both. Where there's chainmail on ebony armor, replace that with the dragonhide textures of Dragonscale. That sort of thing.

And we've worked out the details; hothtrooper44 believes it to be doable and a good concept and will be happy to add it to Immersive Armors whenever it updates next if it turns out like we hope it will. Commission's been sent, so my armor mod's officially in the works.

Hoth showed me a sneak peek of the boots' progress. It's turning out way better than I ever expected. I was initially unsure if the Ebony Armor's fancy line designs would look good alongside dragonbone plating. Now I'm not.

Sadly I don't have a screenshot of it to share with everyone else, as it was a video conference. So we'll have to wait until it's completed before I can share it with anyone.

EDIT: He's gonna send me some screenshots so I can show it off to you guys. I'll make a new post once I get them.

Have some WIP screenies of the armor. The chestpiece is mostly incomplete, but the 1st variant gauntlets and the boots are mostly finished. These are without normal maps for the textures, which still need to be made, and the chestpiece is still using regular ebony maps, so keep in mind that these are all still far from finished. Also the textures for the cloth sections are wrong; that's already being corrected but even still it looks pretty good.

Yeah, I was surprised--he's put 8+ hours into it already; he said he's been having fun with it. Yes, it'll be beast-race compatible, and will have proper ground models. Male only for the time being, though; unless someone wants to donate an extra $50 to get the female armor paid for.

EDIT: Woo, more screenshots. The scaly hide from Dragonscale is now replacing the original hide cloth, and the throat spikes are back to where they were when I was first shown the armor.

I've been derailed by Borderlands 2 for a few weeks. Probably enough time for some more nifty mods to appear.

Who wants a couple more screenshots? The helmet and shield are now done, and it even has full beard support. The armor should be done pretty soon, but I dunno when it'll get a full public release.

Hey, I like that set. I just wished Dragon and Daedric armor be at least trimmed down enough that it looks functional than adorned with too many spikes and horns.
