My favorite arc's was the Rescue Gaara arc, Sasuke and Sai arc, and the Senjutsu Training/Invasion of Pain arc all so awesome.

Wow, I can't believe it. I remember you often posting up several lists regarding Sasuke and his power ups, we all know how you loved his character and the story's concentration on him so much - I thought you'd site his arc as your favorite.

Post time skip: everything from Jiraiya vs. Pain Fight...

I hesitate between Introduction/Land of Waves arc and Chunin Exam/ Invasion of Konoha arc which are great.

Land of Waves was really cool, ennemies like Zabuza and Haku were awesome and very charismatic; their death were so beautiful. Fights were great and epic. Naruto, the character was so cool when he speaks about his nindo and when he took back his headband from Zabuza (the music was incredible too

). This arc had everything!

But, I chose Chunin Exam (

) which have some great moments with a lot of characters like Neiji, Lee, or Shikamaru. I always like these kind of tournament, like there is in a lot of shonen. At this time, Naruto was really good, and I always wanted to watch the next episode (it was a drug

).

After these 2 arcs, I didn't love Naruto anymore

I like the Search for Tsunade arc and the Itachi Pursuit/Jiraiya v. Pain arc.
But I really like the Chunin Exam/Invasion of Konoha arc.

Chuunin exam was probably one of the much better arcs, but search for tsunade was also quite good, I think though the chuunin exam is cemented in my mind as one of the best arcs in the manga is partially due to how well it was animated in the anime, it's rare that I judge a manga by an anime adaptation but I really felt that chuunin exam was both a master piece as manga and anime, also the story was great, especially orochimaru v sarutobi which was the highlight of that arc, considering we got to see three hokage's rampaging.

all the akatsuki arcs except the invasion because of the lame ending

I dunno but I could easily argue that first arc was the best because it best represented a ninja tail. I mean the feel, the atmosphere, emotions, plot, characters, development of characters..damn practically everything was in place here. I remember almost crying at the end of that arc. It touched me very deeply. I almost thought it happened for real and not in some manga. After this arc everything became a bit of (dbz)/cliche.

So yes as much as I loved some other arcs this has to be the one that I will never forget as my favorite.

Still I had to put kakashi gaiden in there as well. It was sucha great anime adaption of manga. Almost perfect and more. Awesome pacing blew me away.

And when we got chuunin/konoha mainly because jiraiya made his entrence. Loved the comedy and all the fights.

I recently watched the series again and the introduction/waves country arc was what made this serie popular.. Incredible background drawings/ lot of character improvements and simply growing up and understanding the world on sasuke and naruto's part..And teh waves country was just a very good arc.. Probably got rated this low because people forgot about them..
I voted for: Introduction/Land of Waves arc , Senjutsu Training/Invasion of Pain arc and Kakashi Gaiden arc .
Although the story could never have become what it is right now without the beautiful Tsunade arc in which you see naruto's nindo/ninja way the clearest..
I loved the Rescue gaara arc aswell.. I seriously cried during that one ..
