Okay, done with Episode 2, and frankly, there is no way they animated it without going hardcore enthusiast on it: so many jabs and over-the-top scenes
Spoiler for Episode 2:

I find it interesting that this series has two animes ongoing. The lite series and the normal series. It's something rare to see.

The fight scene between Takanashi and her sister alternating between reality and delusion was definitely a treat to watch. A lot of the budget must have been spent animating it, but it was worth it.

So true, so so true.

Well enjoyable episode, I sort of feel bad for Yuuta...
Though Touka is just one of those onee-sans that I do love, so I hope to see more of Yuuta suffer at her hands.

Oh yes that ladle! I don't think (or remember) ever seeing a ladle vs umbrella fight before. Such a strange satisfying experience that was.

Episode 2 is just like an intense battle anime. Is Rikka slowly pulling Yuuta back into chunibyo-ism?

Just watching episode 2 and Rikka's antics became more ridiculous and crazier than before. I wonder how the MC capable of maintaining his sanity while dealing with her.

Chu2Koi 02 - The Very First Ridiculous Power, Achieve the Delusion!

The directing of this episode was really good. I believed that it really was a fortissimo/Dies irae-esque life or death battle going on, even though it was about as mundane as things could get. The end of the episode also put the idea for a Chu2Koi/Sakurasou crossover in my head. Yuuta and Sorata have about the opposite luck with cats, but they're both surrounded by equally bizarre people.

I'm not sure how Chimera, cute little familiar that he is, feels about wearing those wings on his back, but he seems to be okay with it. That cat's got a lot of dignity under pressure. I haven't seen such fine umbrella-ing since Ika Musume relied upon one to save her from the evil robot invasion. The opening fantasy of Shinka spraying him with a fire hose hit the perfect spot on the Venn diagram between cute, sexy and silly.

Gate Open!
