Light novel 'Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi' is getting a TV anime.
Coming for 2018.

Plot Summary
Quote:
The series centers on a female college student named Aoi, who inherited the ability to see spirits from her late grandfather. Aoi prides herself on her cooking, and one day she's feeding some agricultural spirits when suddenly a god and the master of the "Tenshinya" (Heavenly Inn) appears and takes Aoi away. He says that due to her grandfather's debts, she must become his bride. Aoi hates this idea and instead declares that she will pay back her grandfather's debt by working at the Tenshinya.

Episode 1 is up on Crunchyroll.

Hmm...I think this first episode was okay. We got Aoi who can apparently see spirits...

It didn't really take long for her to encounter a strange character with a mask. We already see a little bit of her past and pretty sure that's going to be recurring throughout the show as we learn more about Aoi. The connection she has with that ayakashi will probably be a big part of the show as he calls her his "bride".

Seems like a really lighthearted show so far.

Now I'm hoping this series will be able to develop its plot more as anime like this can be repetitive at times.

Oh, this thread is not locked anymore?

Well, this is certainly one of those stories that I'd appreciate a lot more without the romance aspect (it doesn't help that the obvious love interest guy and his relationship with the heroine are the type you see everywhere in this genre). Wouldn't it be more interesting if there was a genuine, non-romantic tension between the heroine and the guy? If there was a real doubt about the intentions of the grandpa, instead of what seems to be setting up a "grandpa left his precious granddaughter in the care of a guy he knew would take care of her" resolution?

I guess it’s not...why was it locked to begin with? Well so far I love the music of the show.... the setting seems decent so I’ll keep watching.

Very cliche romance series but I'm a sucker for this type of romance. Plus, having an obvious pairing is a relief to me...can't stand those harem series that end with no true pairing. Argh..

I can't help thinking "Miketsukami Soushi! from Inu x Boku SS" whenever I see that nine-tailed fox guy.

...and, yeah, why was this thread locked earlier?

The overly long locked thread was my fault. When I move a thread from Upcoming to Current, I lock the thread because it's a multi-step process and I don't want to have the thread changing while I'm processing it. (Someone's post could be lost in the process.) Normally I unlock the thread when I'm done. But I must have forgotten or was interrupted. My apologies.

I thought you wanted to hog the Ogre all to yourself by locking the rest of us out.

I hadn't seen the show at that time. Now that I've seen it... well, let's say that CLOSED option is tantalizing.

Actually, I thought what happened was that she was dying of some illness, and the grandpa made a deal with the ayakashi to save her (which is what the first scene shows) but in exchange had to promise her hand in marriage.

I'm actually thinking the Ayakashi that gave her the food in the first scene is not a good Ayakashi as she thought. Even Ginji made a concerned expression when she mentioned it.
Spoiler for predictions:

But one thing I'm curious about, why did Odanna scratch her hand when she gave him the bento? Does that have any meaning?

Spoiler for predictions:
Yes, I also expect a sort of "if you eat ayakashi food you owe the ayakashi your life" kind of curse. It didn't really look like actual food, anyway, I bet it turns out that it was the ayakashi's life force or something. I think the whole "did my grandpa think nothing of me" angst is setting up a "he loved you very much, that's why he struck this deal with Oodanna" resolution.

I agree that she probably wasn't really ill, it's more likely that she was wasting away from hunger. Going by her monologue in the classroom there must have been a period in her life when she was starving.

The anime version isn’t really that slow pace and did jump a few scenes off. Like for example it was never explain why Orge god being cold and telling Aoi off during the dispute. Aoi is a human who can die easily unlike ayakashi, thats why she cannot participate in a fight between ayakashi. You can say Orge god care for her in his own way.
