I'm looking for an anime that involves pirates. That is NOT OnePiece!

I don't like the art work too 'cartoony'. More realistic like...or somewhere inbetween.

Outlaw Star (space pirate)
Black Lagoon (modern pirate)
Mars Daybreak (mecha sci-fi pirates)

If you dont mind manga Wanted (old school pirate shoujo with romance)

Yeah, Black Lagoon is probably the closest anime with your interest, which is about modern day pirates.

Conversely, there is a multitude of space pirate anime/manga, if you're willing to go for that.

The amount of times i've heard that before. Ah well.

Cowboy Bebop involves a pirate theme, plus it's a show very much worth checking out.

I assumed the reason Captain Harlock wasn't mentioned here was because he'd probably have a hell of a hassle tracking copies of it down, unless of course it's been remastered and rereleased.
