(L) Yosuga no Sora

Kinda was expecting Akira's route to be superior to Kazuha's, but not THAT superior. Akira is truly likable (plus extremely cute) and the episode was quite fast paced, full or interesting developments. The bath scene was breathtaking, but it can be even better with an extended blu ray version

I also like how Sora is always present, even during the routes of other heroines.

Okay, so did they do anything in the bath, or did they just actually just pass out before anything could happen? Can't water cause issues with, uh, lubrication?

Interesting that Akira is okay with getting naked and having Haru touch her but still talks in innuendo and won't look him in the eye. And yeah... isn't his initial reaction to her getting in the bath to be expected? I don't ask my girlfriend to sit in my lap for that reason, and that's when we're both fully clothed.

As for the non-sex related stuff this episode - really loved the atmosphere as always, although parts of the search itself seemed a little cliche and overblown. I also liked how Kazuha's mother giving Akira the cold shoulder gave this episode a bit of a tense edge. But what would have given it even more of a tense edge would be if the woman taking care of Akira showed up while they were still in the bath.

I don't feel that the mother is really a villain in this story, but rather another victim in a very crappy situation. Clearly the way she treats Akira is wrong, since the girl is entirely innocent, but so is she in many respects. The mother didn't have an affair and bear a child with another man. It's unreasonable to expect her to fully embrace and acknowledge the child that your lover had with someone else. That's a very big dose of reality to swallow, and Akira is just a reminder of that painful betrayal. Hopefully the bitterness in her heart can be removed with the power of LOVE.

I don't really blame her for having issues with her daughter, but the way Kazuha and Akira acted so very apprehensive towards her suggested to me that Akira may have reason to be afraid of her.

That's possible. So far it appears that the mother simply pretends Akira doesn't exist, out of spite and bitterness. But obviously there's a limit to how "justified" (can't think of a better word) her actions are. Ignoring someone is one thing; intentionally trying to harm them or make their lives harder is another. My reaction to Akira's scared expression? She's a sweetheart who genuinely wants to get along and be accepted by everyone, especially the mother of her half-sister. But knowing that this woman has utterly rejected and denied he existence is enough to scare her. Oh, well. We'll find out.

I recall myself saying that Akira is a person who is hard not to like, when doing a summary on the title's characters back before it started, and going by the comments here it seems said assertion holds true

A quite enjoyable episode overall, even if it did move at a break-neck pace (though that goes without a saying at this point i believe). Akira and her interacting with others is always fun to watch (loved the "toilet? " "NO!" part ), and it felt like this episode had a better flow to it than the previous ones. Haru did leave me scratching my head this time around though - was he really thinking he would have a chance of finding the pendant just like that by digging in a random location ? The intent here was clear - to show that Haru is completely focused on the idea of helping Akira regarding her mother, one way or another, to the point of being somewhat pushy about it, but him showing up in that getup with a shovel in hands really had me going "Boy, what are you thinking".

Nothing much to say about the bathroom scene, i quite liked what they did here. Aside from serving as the quickstart point for the romance, they also set a decent mood and took the opportunity to show that Akira, despite her cheerful and outgoing personality, doesn't really have much in terms of close human interaction and is living in fairly lonely circumstances, with her drifting back to past memories about her 'grandfather' as the only counter to that. The parallels with the legend Kazuha told Haru and Sora are certainly not unintended.

A shame it already ends next week ... if anything, this path could have certainly used more time than 2 episodes to tackle all the issues (And they could have sacrificed Motoka's omakes at the end in favor of more "useful" screentime ). At any rate, it is going to be a quite packed finish, here's hoping they do justice to it in the short time they have.


On another note, this episode featured a number of changes compared to the game.

Haru's little digging trip is anime-original, as is the bathroom scene. That's a fair bit of alteration for apparently major developments. I can see why they did though, as going with the original way Akira's romance started might have been a bit too long given the time they have to work with, and doing it the way they did allowed for consolidation of several points, which is everything when trying to tell this story within 2 episodes i guess. They managed to preserve the original feel of characters and their motivations fairly well, and the bathroom scene was quite good in it's own right, so i am not complaining.

didn't show the "action" in the bathtub, given that they certainly didn't skip the chance to show the "action" between Haruka and Kazuha last episode. It's pretty likely that they went past a kiss, after all.

Well ... perhaps they didn't want to break the somewhat serious mood of the whole event with the full display ? It is hard to say whether they "went all the way" or not (though personally i would be surprised if it didn't evolve in to that from the situation we left off, but it can go either way). Either way, i am fully expecting them to feature a fully on-display scene next week, much like with Kazuha, so perhaps they just didn't feel the need for two scenes. It is not, after all, what the show is about; and to that end, one scene is plenty to drive home their point.

I share the same thoughts as those who find Akira's arc more enjoyable than Kazuha's. My, my, she sure was bold lol. Wonder if like Kazuha, Akira's issue with her step-mother will be resolved before the climax of her arc, so to speak. I chuckled at Haru's suiting up, man he sure is a city boy huh?

The bath scene really took my eyes and jaws away. Seriously, I was dumbfounded, and the spoken lines....my god!

Maybe it's second nature for those with lots of eroge experience, but for someone with zero experience, this is too much for my liking. (I meant it in the positive way.)

Thought that the episodes will be a bore till the Sora route, but boy, am I fixated with stuff so far.

Like to mention the BGM as well. Wonderful!

Excellent! The arc prior was okay, I thought I'd wait for my favourite Sora to finally make her debut but man, Akira really hits the jackpot.

It was not only hot but also kind of dramatic and romantic putting it into context.
And "something hard is poking me", that was so adorable and funny that moment became priceless.

Development obviously uber fast, but also uber acceptable and comprehendable.
Haru wasn't worse either in this one, he pretty much showed likable characteristics for me, though the full-geared pathfinder thing was a bit overboard, oh well!

I read something about a twist in an earlier post, looking forward to next episode's conclusion.
