What have you seen so far? I presume you've heard of Naruto?
The Raildex franchise is an obvious one but honestly the highschool setting ain't that relevant in my opinion. At least not the traditional sense of one that you're probably thinking of. My Hero Academia is another one. I never bothered to pick it up but I've heard a lot of good things about it and it seems quite popular. I can definitely recommend Blue Exorcist and Kill la Kill. Both focus heavily on action. There's also Little Witch Academia but that's more about heart than fights. I also recommend checking out the TVTropes page for some examples.

The chivalry of a failed knight, even if it's more of a boarding academy than a normal high school. Invaders of the rokujouma has magic and supernatural elements with some high school antics. High school DXD...the name says all, even if the focus is more on supernatural battles and harem than life school.

Holy shit, I can't believe I didn't consider Shin Sekai Yori. That's a pretty darn great take on one now that I think about it.
But it's important to remember that what the OP likely wants is a Highschool that teaches the battle magic as well, not just a setting for magic battles to take place.

Blade Dance of the Elementalers is a clear fit: set in a high school that only accepts people capable of bonding with elementals.
Along with My-HiME, I'd also have to mention My-Otome, a show where again the school is exclusively for girls who possess massive powers. Maken-Ki as well centers on a high school for users of powerful items/weapons. Aria the Scarlet Ammo sort of hovers on the border: the school is centered on people with extraordinary abilities training to be "butei", a sort of semi-police force; most don't actually have superhuman/magical powers but several do, and even if they don't it's kind of borderline. Not to mention that most of the enemies are quite firmly set in the supernatural range. High School DxD may not be a high school for supers, but multiple extremely-powerful factions are centered at the school and pretty much all major characters are demons or angels who attend the school. Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor too is a very good fit: the hero's a new teacher at a high school for mages and deals constantly with the school setting. |

The main character and another girl in the current Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara ("IRODOKU") have magical powers. This is a pretty slow-moving story and no fighting.
Mahoutsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto follows a teen-aged girl attending an academy for mages. The emphasis on the ethics of magic-casting sets this story apart. Again, more a slice-of-life type of story.
