Or how did Hinata get so powerful as a little kid? I guess sacrificing his family is not enough to get that much power.

I presume you are reading the Chinese versions. Well, yes he did retain his powers. He only took enough of Himea's specially crafted Poison to suppress the Black Rabbit. According to Nyankichi (Taito's familiar), the Dark Rabbit can still go crazy and take over his body and will. Right now, whenever Taito wants to activate the Black Rabbit, he will need to borrow Nyankichi's 2nd power: Cursing the curse/magic, which will suppress the Black Rabbit. And he cannot activate beyond a certain threshold it seems.

I haven't finished vol 8 yet, too busy, in fact I'm at the chapter where Gekkou is talking to Hinata in Makuae (the Demon Plane), so what I say might be wrong. From what I know up till this point, the knowledge and wisdom was inborn in Hinata. Since birth, as a child, he already has the knowledge to contract demons and work magic. That's why when he saw the Prophecy, with the vast knowledge and wisdom he has, he cannot see a way to change it, and thus, he went into total despair.

So far, it is heavily implied that there is only one Vampire, who may also be the God on the other side of the Moon(not confirmed yet), all the other Vampires are split existences. Currently, it's uncertain whether Himea is the true(real) form, though the Temperon Crowley claims that she is. In any case, Himea herself also has memories locked up somehow.

perhaps it's explained in volume 8 and I haven't reach them yet, but based on some netabare (spoilers) I saw on the web, those 3 are apparently split off existences as well. it's not a mistranslation, since we have that in the novel as well.

I don't know who's the leader of TC, but maybe it's mentioned in v8 and I haven't reached it yet. Some of the witches and demons in TC are idiots though LOL. Pelty can contest with Mirai for the Throne of Idiocy. I could have added Chiya in but I think she's just faking it.

when Taito try to use his power to dispel any magic he think she may be affected, suddenly the other personality appeared. She's the same person who appeared inside Himea in vol.2.
She claimed herself as a part of "Bliss"(same as Barlskra) which will appears when her master suffer to protect them, and this is the first time she manifest two times in just short span of time during the past 1,000 or even 10,000 years. That's because Taito hurt them so much.

Taito then asked why would both of them choose an ordinary man like him, but she said she didn't know since she can't access that data and even Himea may didn't know too.
Taito decided and told her that he want to save both of them.
By hearing that she told him that even there's despair in the future,a hope is also lie in the past "The reason why us vampire was born......" that's the only way. But before she can said anything furthermore she got blackout and a defense wall of the prophecy activated.
Haruka regain her conciousness and bid farewell to Taito since she will got erase cuz she infringe the prohibited act of the prophecy, but she can comeback if Taito can remember her(by the same kind of poison Himea used with him)
She then told him love him since 100 million years ago, then entrust Himea and the issue of the world with him. Then everything became nothihg.

So that's who the guy is....well looks like my guess that he was either the Moon God or a Vampiric existence like Balskra or Balskra himself wasn't too far off...

I was just done with v8 today. Because of the spoilers I've read on the web, I wasn't too surprised by the events. Looking forward to v9 now.

Spoiler for v9 expectations:

1. council will meet Tenma; probably more light on the Prophecy.
2. looking forward to the surprise on the Temperon Crowley's faces when Hinata and his god-class demons show up to help Gekkou and gang fend them off *snicker*

I'm actually hoping for more consecutive fast-paced action and mind-fudge like those in v5 and v6.

Liene brought 20 of them in volume 7. just saying the Gedgard fight in volume 6 was the most exciting fight to date. and with regards to Hinata vs TC, remember he has God-Class Demons under his command (Skrald, Ivyy, and maybe(not sure) Beelzebub as well). I believe together with Cross and the rest of the student council (Saitohimea with her recovered strength from the Mistress of Edeluca, Dark Rabbit, and Cross the non-human human), they are more than capable of defeating Liene's group. . but then again, a fight of that scale may wipe out Japan.

How do you think about the way of the story from now. Will the prophecy arc be the end of it or just the beginning of something even bigger?
Even though this arc has a climax vibe, I doubt Kagami will end it so soon. The story still has much more potential of growth.

based on his track record, I doubt Kagami will end it soon. I'm guessing at least 15 volumes, if not 20 volumes (or more). there are still a number of unanswered and unresolved things. besides, in volume 7's afterword, he said he had finished tying up the foreshadowing parts in earlier volumes, and the core of the story is finally running. this is like Daiden starting, so I can't see him ending the story in just the next few volumes.

Spoiler for unresolved stuff at the top of my memory; may have missed out others:

1. Curing Izumi
2. Curing Ela of the East
3. Cross said he will complete Bliss in volume 4 epilogue. Erm, don't tell me he's a split existence of a vampire as well?? how else can he complete Bliss? And who the hell is Cross? Cross said he created the Military over 300 years ago. Then he is 7th Student Council President?? Now he can't see Liir and vice versa, but some years ago he can? But he's over 300 years old?? there's something about Cross, my gut tells me. Remember what he said in the prologue of volume 4? there's some kind of barrier in Japan protecting them from true despair. He also hinted that Izumi is not an ordinary human in volume 5 IIRC. (I hope these are not plot holes.)
4. still don't know what the hell is Tenma's role and the relationship with the Vampire(s). Especially because of what happened in volume 2 which still confuses me: --> Haruka brought down the barrier for the Tenma?? Huh?? Why??
5. origins of Prophecy. speaking of this, I need to get the BD, since Kagami had mentioned he will have inserts in the BD like Denyuuden. if they were like Sion's notes in Denyuuden, then the origins of Prophecy or maybe the Vampire may be written in them.
6. it was mentioned there were 12 organizations. granted, we have the biggest 3 so the rest may be extras, but still, it's an expandable plot device
7. Bliss has stages. Perhaps there's some meaning to the stages. Also, notice we get a new writing for Saitohimea (源書の光). Perhaps a keyword for Bliss?
8. it's possible Kagami pulls a Remurus from seemingly nowhere (see Daiden)
9. Cross implanted the remodeled body of the Tenma into Taito. now I'm seriously interested in how he got that.
10. Gekkou also got a new name from Skrald (月光返照菩薩 - チャンドラプラバ). though this may nothing special.
11. what's the 天魔の六欲（マーラハーピーヤス）that Ramiel Lilith had stolen
12. Ramiel Lilith's true form? Speculatable but never explicitly mentioned who.
13. Taito still have that fountain of knowledge he got from Edeluca. Besides getting Nyankichi, he has no use for that knowledge anymore?? another expandable plot device.

all in all, I'd say Kagami's ability to "troll" is getting better. though I still prefer the characterizations in Denyuuden, but probably because a lot of work has gone into building the characters in Denyuuden. Itsuten is still pretty 'young' after all.

No...I mean, aren't Gedgard always described as god-level? And Liene's choppers have a whole formation of them literally ready to launch and capable of erasing Japan.

I just hope the Temperon girls all survive the coming battle...I'm actually warming to them more than the Student Council...

Curing Izumi should be most urgent I think....can't have her dead in two years no? And I haven't finished v8 yet but was it explained where her brain tumor came from? All that was stated in chapter 1 was that the nature and cause were unknown. Maybe it is a supernatural disease?

And I would like to know more about the Military's history too...Don't tell me they started off as a bunch of high-end tech wielding samurai in the Edo period with weapons stolen from other worlds...

yes it is. just very crunched up and condensed. main important difference is as what I've posted in the anime thread (ie. Himea did not follow Taito). Himea paid for Taito's revival with her magic. Taito's price was already mentioned on page 1 of this thread -->
