From what I understand, airbrushes are used to paint large surfaces evenly. Small details are still best painted by hand. So it depends on which part of your figurine is losing its colour.

Question about Higurashi Figure.

So i got the Max Factory set of Higurashi figures but Mion's hair will NOT stay clipped. are these figures supposed to be that hard to put together?

It took me about 2 hrs.

I'm planning on touching up on the whole figure if possible but mostly the hair. So using a paintbrush to paint it is better? Wouldn't I need special paint for the color to stay on? Also when I dust the figure I generally use my hands without a cloth or anything liek that does that contribute to any damage to the figure?

Well, the pro's of an airbrush as I see it would be smoother more even painting, cons would be.. expensive? xD And depending on how dismantable your figure is, you might need to wrap your figure pretty carefully so that the paint doesnt get where you dont want it.

Thanks. How much? You mean for the kit? Or how much would I sell it for? The kit was about $230. Not sure if I want to sell it after putting so much work into building it.

For those of us in the US that buy collectible anime figurines and anything else from Japan, some painful news.

1) The US Dollar dipped below 100 yen in value for the first time since 1995 today.
2) The price of oil is pretty much safely above $100/barrel - directly affects shipping costs.

Buying things from Japan is going to be substantially more painful this year.

Shipping costs are eventually going to impact everything unless something big changes. :\ Time to be more selective in all of our purchases. (Oh, but I forgot we have to be good consumers and keep spending, or else recession will hit! )

The price of the figures and the cost of shipping is insubstantial next to the cost of storage space....

Hey guys, I'm new here! What's up!
I couldn't remember if I posted anything in this thread before so I'll say hi again.
I'm a figure collector too but just started for around 2 years, don't have a big collection like some of you guys does.
I'll post some pic next time.

We have already start feeling the pinch. This figure slated for a July release stands at a mere 14 cm and it's already cost 7800 yen.

But I have already made a reservation for it. Quite a bold move for me considering I need to spurge on a PS3 for MGS4 a month prior.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that, too. Just when I've been getting into buying more stuff directly from Japan.

@MakubeX2... That figure! She's beautiful, but I must plead my ignorance... who is she?

Another Blood from Demonbane.
The personification/manifestation of the blood written version of Necronomicon. She seeks to replace/merge with Al Azif, the personfication/manifestation of the original Necronomicon.

Thank you. I wasn't familiar with that. Took a quick peek at the wiki entry for it... looks intriguing. May have to check it out.

Does Another Blood have much of a part in the anime? I know this topic isn't for series discussion, but I like to have some kind of "connection" with figures that I like, if I get them, and I doubt I'll ever be playing that game.

The game she appeared in is a sequeal to the original series and it has no proper anime adaption yet.
